i think they're pretty damn reliable

my first car was a mk3 polo. learnt to drive with it, pimpin round with L plates and father/grandad shotgun mine was a gt coupe and got it when i was 16. insurance was mad for it but i could afford it so why not i thought. best car to start with i think. i wanted a golf really, but only would of been able to get a 1.3 mk2 golf and they are dog slow.

thats why i was thinking of getting a mk 3 to run it for abit then rag it then put a nice lump into it and turn it into a propper show car or something along them lines if u get me

I will raise my hand. I had a Mk3 cl coupe 1.0 in Tornado red. I think it had about 80k on the clock, I got it from the garage across the road for £500.

My first car was my mk3 and I still have it 4 years later and I love it. Cheap to run, good on petrol, looks good IMO, has been very reliable for me.

i want the SPI one i think its that one I'm not sure i dont know the difference with this SPI or w.e it is lol

SPI is single point injection, found on the cl's and such like. MPI is the multipoint injection and is found in the GT's, although also in rarer NZ models

well i am guna look at SPI first but if i can get insured on MPI then i will defo go for that one

GT is worth it for sure, only issue is when your 17 its a fairly powerful loud pedal

Thats my opinion of it anyway, i know there are people on here who have valvers etc for first cars though :)

I'm 18 and had my licence since august and only just got money through to buy a car soooo it will be my first car to be insured on but am going on ma step dads init sooooooo it shouldnt be too dear haha

Haha could probably insure a GT that way - best way is to just ring up / use gocompare etc. But bear in mind that its fronting

I have a 1L as my first car and i've had a few problems with it but nothing major, needs a service and a few things looking at and it'll be running sweet. Bought a GT for a conversion or new project too and its on 180k(ish) and going strong, gonna give the engine a good looking over before its used again just for peace of mind, but yeah if you look after them they'll go forever, reliable little cars.

if i get one i am guna get it resprayed in a colour what I've never seen a polo summert like baby blue or ultra blue but i know its dear to get a car reprayed haha

I think most of my cars have been mk3s! Dunno why, but I Just love them and come back to them all the time. Had all sorts, Volvo, Astra, Golf, Jetta, Vento, Lupo but seem to always end up back in a mk3 some how or way!

becuase i think to be honest any mk 3's look better when alot of time and effort has been put into um then some newer cars out there today!
