Well, theoretically the car is a 1.3.

That engine is a mk3 2E gti engine, although for ease of use the radiatior, brakes, airbox and shafts are mk2 PB items.

The gearbox is also from the mk3.

I've only got it out because it's going, need the space for a project I actually intend to drive.

oh and if some one was to 'forget' to register an upgraded motor in a 1.3 jetta they would still be eligible for the cheap tax band... apparently

well, got it out again for the mot this morning, just got out the gate and it ran our of petrol.

After chucking a green thing in, went to the mot station, failed on indicators. Both flashing when only one should, quick play about later and it passed.

It's now clear of mine ready to hit the bay as a new toy is arriving tomorrow now. :)
