MKIV Polo 1.4 TDi Central locking issues

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Driverside door & Fuel flap locks/unlocks sometimes, passengerside door never works, Boot works fine. when using the alarm key fob. The alarm is a sigma s1.

Had a look at the alarm last night and everything seems to be fine.

the strange thing is even the pass side door attempts to lock and unlock and sometimes the lock press on the door makes it a little of the way up, as if its sticking or something.

its driving me nuts, i know there could be a chance that the alarm is causing the issue but just not sure.

If anyone out there can help i'd appreciate it.

Thanks all

nothing to do with the alarm dude if its trying to move, check the air lines for the central locking pump, check for any twists or leaks

Hi All,

Tried to look for the pump last night, from a previous post from Punz I think its behind the driver rear light but no sign of it there. if any one can help please let me know.

thanks again

You're in the right place.

Driver's side lamp, pull the carpet away, first aid box and polystyrene foam remove, and its under there.

Thanks PoloD for the help will look through again at the weekend and keep you guys update.

Also, check the wiring through the large pipe between the car and the door, might be a broken wire there shorting out, could be that if its not the pump, that's what happened when my central locking went funny

Hi All,

Its been a while but not been able to have another look till recently. I'm sorry for sounding thivk but pulled away the carpet and under there is the spare. so had a look closer to the driver side rear lamp and could only find the rear seat belt.

again sorry for the blonde moment, also i have the facelift model if that makes a difference?

Thanks guys

it's not as high as the seat belt.

You'll see pipes going to it and a multi plug
