6n ratty polo

Featured Replies

ok so i bought a little standard 1.0L mk4 vw polo 6n. i will be ratting it and have done some small things already.

i know people arnt going to like that fact that I'm going to rat it but its my car and not much will stop me having it how i want any way.

so far:

-de-badged front grill

-Clear indicator covers (also bought chrome bulbs that still flash orange) saves it looking like fried eggs.

-began papering the interior with brown parcel paper (for a friend to do some artwork on) will be coating in pva glue and then varnish

- fitted 6x9's onto parcel shelf, yet to wire the sub up

-warning and electric taped the steering wheel. i also papered the 3 steering wheel spoke then varnished but if fooked up so had to strip and will do again.

- also taped the rear view mirror.

what i plan to do:

-ordered nato green military paint

-coilys need to be saved up for

-have ordered yellow clear vinyl for the headlights

-finsih papering interior

-take out back seats build a raised floor with hinges and shit so that i can make it long enough to sleep on with both the front seat leaned forward

-leisure battery set up

-roof rack and junk also a double pod amber flashing lights

-semi rust bonnet

-maybe leave one panel in primer

- i like making stencils and stuff so will probably be covered in them.

- oh yeah I'm gonna get some mk2/3 steels and get them on :)

all for now. peace.

p.s. updates weekly probably

not my taste mate, dont know why you would want to 'rat' it it could look pretty smart mate, but its you car and its up to u pal,

should look good when its done.

people dont like forced rat but i do i just think its a way to show your imagination on your car

sounds good,enjoy yerself with it

not really my type of design and like clarkson said could look good if not ratted but each to their own mate, sayin that though i think the interior is pretty good something catches my eye with that one

yeah, I've never though of ratting it to please people rather to please my self. i rely like the euro look but as I'm a student my wallet doesnt match and id be to lazy to keep it looking clean even though we every think you could dream of to keep cars clean due to ma dads job.

any way still waiting on paint so will post updates as they arrive.

Keep Us Posted ;) Want To See How This Progresses

I'm quite a fan of the ratted look, I used to love the ratty beetles and campers at the old VW shows my parents used to take me to in the camper.

Make sure to keep us updated, be good to see what you end up doing. :) I already like the idea of lining the door cards with parcel paper, top notch idea mate. :)

think I'm my next idea is to mount the hand ash tray onto the dash and overlap the paper so that it seems to be breaking through the dash!
