I've worked out I pay approximately £160+ a week in tax (income, fuel, VAT etc), nice to see it is going towards a £40,000 bed for the cops to spend their time on duty in.

The sledging video I could agree with, but this is taking the piss.

what more info do you need tommo? They are fast asleep in a pursuit (sp) car, if they weren't on duty they wouldn't be in it.

5am is a ripe time for uninsured motorists, drunk drivers and drugged drivers to be on the streets endangering lives. The Police are the only people who have the power to stop them in their tracks and take them off the road.

I very much doubt any cop is good enough to do that in their sleep.

Dont get me wrong, I think they probably are just tossing it off, but it could well be legitimate.

What time is shift change normally at? I know its quite early as all the night shift coppers round here go for a brew at the travelodge at the end of their shift. Is it not plausable that they could be at the end of their shift, but after a busy night catching crims they want to catch some sleep before driving the car back to base.

OR, perhaps they chased some crims for miles up the motorway, spent hours doing whatever they were doing which over ran their shift. They probably have to take a break every 3 hrs or so of driving anyway.

Like I said though probably just lazy dicks.

Thats the kind of sleeping policeman i'd rather see on the roads :p

No not in the slightest!

If it was shift change time, they should go back to the station so the car can be used by the next shift.

If they were on a break they should either be at the station again or vigilate for anything unusual on the road...I'm sure they will be allowed to cut their break short to chase down a potentially dangerous driver.

If they are on a steak out, then obviously they should be awake for that.

Its got blue lights on the top, security firms can only have yellow.orange lights and usually have security down the side and black and yellow or just yellow graphic things on the side.

And its silver which is the usual colour for a police car down that way now.

Exactly you dont see there uniforms either. There shoulder numbers arnt visible, which after the riots last year we know that they should be.

What about the registration number guys...L&B Police can tell just by looking at that whether

Its a police car i just put the Reg in the database and it blocked it, and read the small print and it only blocks them when its a Emergency vehicle so it cant give any info away

If there shift has finished, i'm sure they have to get the car back for insurance reasons, i remember an Ambulance driver drove back to the depo with someone in it and swapped driver since he was no longer covered. Guessing it is the same?

Either way, I want to be a traffic cop, so i can sleep in a nice Beemer

I don't think the Police actually have insurance mate.. at least not in the way us normal motorists do. Apparently it's cheaper for the Police as an organisation to just fork out for any accidents than pay for insurance all the time.

At least this is what I've heard but to be honest I'm not a very reliable source.. either way I agree with what you are saying.

Plus the fact that if their shift is over, someone else is going to need the bloody car!
