anyone??

If the engine swaps been declared, there shouldnt be a problem insuring it

:)

hi thinking of buying a modified car, a corsa with a 2 litre under the hood

the reg of the car brings it up as a 2 litre vectra on car insurance website money supermarket but on ebay it is showing up as a 2.0 corsa??

just wondering if there is a lot of hassle involved in insuring the car as a 2.0l engine as it stands on the logbook and if anyone has come across this before.

cheers

You are doing this all wrong.

You are trying to insure a specialist car on via internet sites which generally are there for standard cars.

You need to speak to a specialist insurer like my company, we insure many, many engine converted cars.

tel: 02083645500, discount for club polo members 8-)

If it's coming up as a vectra when you search it's reg, there's something funny about the car, eg it's not wearing the right reg.

Stick the reg number in one of the boxes on here http://www.rac.co.uk/products-services/car-data-checks/ (don't get as far as paying) and see what the DVLA have it logged as.

very strange,

rang my insurance company and its down as the original car and as a corsa

typed it into the RAC and it also comes up as the original car and also a corsa

but when i try it on comparethemarket / money supermarket its showing up as something else?

very strange.

might just give that modified insurance company a try to avoid hassle :D

That still might not solve issues with the registration mate.. have you seen the V5C?

I reckon it would be better to ring up the DVLA and ask what info they hold on it, as I'm pretty sure you can't insure the car properly unless the DVLA are properly informed about the engine change aswell.
