Thought I'd slap some pics up of my other car, been my daily driver for a year til I got the mk3, still is for a short while longer. Bought it last jan, standard and tatty for £3k, and it's gradually evolved into what it is now, after a lot of £££ and time lol. All the work's done by me, I'm a Honda specialist mechanic which does come in handy haha.

You do indeed mate, and yeah it is, pretty mcuh made for the circuit haha, could do with a shorter box though perhaps to be perfect round there.

I've now got the coupe on the road, and have done for a couple of weeks so work started on the teg. First order was one last go at Santa Pod on the 7th March, I also had some Skunk2 stage 2 cams to go in, so in they went and bumped up the power to 218bhp, and 150 ft/lb of torque (quite a bit for a vtec, key phrase there haha). And also fully stripped it

It ran a 13.41 @ 105.5mph, killing a lot of "faster" machinery :D

A couple of last pictures before it came off the road, cheers to Yellowdiablo for taking them :)

Since then it's not really done a lot so I set about prepping it for a more track biased life. I got some new lighter wheels from rarerims.co.uk, spoon replica mirrors, some solid engine mounts, new coilovers and a full bush kit with adjustable camber and toe arms front and rear.

Set about fitting the engine mounts and new wheels

Yesterday I ripped the dash out, binned the passenger airbag, some air con nonsense, entire SRS loom and ECU and load of unnecessary wiring for the radio, clock, glovebox light etc, anything I didn't need. Heater is still in there for now, if I can source a heated front screen I'll be binning that too.

Next plans are to rebush it, grind off the heat shields for the disks to try and help brake fade reduction, and grind out any excess weight from the back, like the single skin bits to support the interior trim and rear seat brackets, stuff like that. Also vinyl wrap the boot black (need to hide the holes left by the evo wing which is now sold) and source a new spoiler.

It's also missing the front lip in the pics on the drive, need to source another one!

Some more work yesterday, decided to get a bit hardcore and get the angle grinder out.

Marked up the panels for cutting

And attacked it!

Then I took the dash out, rmoved the passenger airbag, air con evaporator, all SRS wiring, head unit wiring, clock and wiring, anything that wasn't essential basically. Alarm and Immoiliser/central locking also removed.

24385_381037799690_514189690_3559760_814

And some of the shit I took out;

I total it's lost a good 15-20kg now just by removing things that didn't need to be there. Need to get some plastic windows and remove the electrics in there, then I can chop the door skins. I also still need to attack the boot skin for some more weight saving :)

nice build. Getting your self a roll cage? - Removing all that metal affect the rigidity in any way?

You badman. Where's the spoiler gone?!

Yeah I've agreed to buy a cage, just need to get round to collecting it really. The metal I removed is only there for supporting the rear speakers/aerial/side trim so it's not structural at all, just single skin shit, really flimsy and to be honest didn't weigh an awful lot. But since I stripped wiring out I figured I can't really ignore that.

Spoiler's sold Jon mate :( Really liked it but too much drag, made a 5mpg difference when I took it off lol and couldn't really tell any difference in high speed grip.
