My 16v

Featured Replies

i bought this back in august 2008 , never had a dub before , drove a mates 16v around for a while and fell in love , had 13 dubs since then so I've got the bug now !

7 weeks after buying it the gearbox went , knowing fook all about cars then the cheapest price i got was 700 quid to refurb and refit the gearbox , but my best mate wanted to buy it , so sold it to him , bought a mk1 golf gti and a mk2 gti instead , but still wasnt happy hence all the other cars .... but after 7 months of him owning it he wanted to call it quits , so bought it back off him for 400 quid , 1200 quid less than i sold it to him for ..... but the downside was , he'd pissed off a few people , so with that the car got trashed , its halfway through being rebuilt atm , got a few different coloured panels on it , but its now tucked away ready for a respray for summer ........

here's a few pic's of it in its glory days :

when i got it back , it needed new bonnet , wings , grill headlights , indicators , front bumper , needs 2 new sills , and both rear quarter repairing too , along with the back bumper needing painting , and the boots started to rust so that needs sorting too ...... lost heart in it for a little while , but all the new panels and everything are now sitting here waiting along with coilovers and a hella spoiler - 280mm momo team ..... gotta get a new exhaust too due to the ex best mate of mine decatting it and blowing all the baffles out

my mk1 gti's going begining of next week so she'll be coming back to the house ready to be stripped down for the respray - goes to show how much a car can deteriorate over a year ..... comments welcome , ile update as bits happen :p and i dont want no one else saying scrap it and buy another one , i know it'd be cheaper , but id rather do it this way :D

6N2 Hybrif front bumper looks better in my opinion But other than that sounds good! Shame about the car deteriorating, but at least you've still got valver bumpers and that!

yeah , i repaired the standard valver bumper so got that one spare too , id love the hybrid bumper but no bodyshops round here would attempt it , and cant seem to find anywhere on the net to show how they're made , i know its a 6n top and 6n2 bottom , but is it just a case of plastic welding or more ? :)

look like my old bumper need tharrt..haha
