Hey all, just seen that I've got a 15cm long crack on the bottom of my windscreen (6n) it started from a little chip, right at the bottom on the black stuff, below the wiper blade. now its spread up to the clear glass, so i can see it from inside.

I have got windscreen cover, but not wanting to part with £70 just yet, was wondering if there is anything i can do to prevent, or slow the spreading.

Autoglass repair, autoglass replace! :-D

they only repair chips, or replace windscreens, they wont do cracks. just want to slow the spreading, anything like a resin, or glue that i could put in the crack, or a vinyl sticker? just need it to last until friday when i get paid haha

Best thing you can do to slow it down is gaffa tape it, but it will get worse. Problem is now if something hits the screen, it'll go through far easier than on an undamaged screen.

Get it changed.

lol same things happened to me...bloody pheasant tried to dodge another car and ended up hitting my windscreen, massive crack now but my windscreen cover doesnt come into place till the 6/2/10 so am just waiting and watching it get worse lol

Just get it changed. If you've ever had a window smashed on your car you know how annoying it is trying to clear up the glass. No matter how many times you hoover it out it always seems to turn up in places. Plus if the weathers anything like it is here it'll be freezing over night and then you'll be whacking the heaters on when your driving. If its already cracked that'll just be asking to smash tbh.
