The rules about maker's name at the bottom, BS kitemarks, etc only apply if the car is post-2001 and the plate itself was made after the new rules came into force in 2001.

on the topic of plates,

the copper was worryed about the material, but Dubmeister off legal pressed alloys plates?

http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/

am i right in thinking is purelly down to the font? because thats looks to be a standard UK font thats pressed

Does anyone know what the rules are in terms of where the plates are?

Does it matter if it's on the inside of glass?

Reason I ask is because I've got a smooth boot to put on my mk3 and I'm just thinking where the best place to put it is.

Wherever I put it I'm guessing it should be lit up too.

I've been told about plate inside the glass before, I'd imagine it's another grey area seeing as busses tend to have numberplates behind glass. If you make sure it is well lit inside the glass then it's just luck basically.

front: infront of front wheels and readable from a distance. rear: has to be lite but where its gotta go I'm unsure?

david.

my pressed plates have been on for ages now , i used to get pulled all the time for random size , fonts etc , so i went for some full D plates , got the band , the front , pressed metal ......... never been pulled yet , saying that i haven't had traffic police behind me in 9 months , so yeah maybe I've gotten off lightly

although I've been fined for plastic plates that were german font , i really dont get it , all depends on what mood the coppers in i suppose ..... I'm now being taken to court for my car being too low :/

Too low ??? How low is it ?

theres a thing about metal plates being dangerous if u run someone over..

That's a fairly stupid rule if it's true, the rest of the car is made of metal lol.

I've not got pressed plates but I have a 11" by 3" front plate on the teg, never been pulled for it yet. I think it helps that it's got standard font, no border/flag or any of that faggotry. Found out a few weeks back that it can be picked up by gatso's too :(

german plates are wack anyway

If you still want pressed plates, i think Europlate are doing road legal pressed plates now. Correct UK font etc just unsure if it's got the manufacturers post code on or not! I seen them advertised at Inters and Santa Pod last year, worth checking out......

Besides, most of our cars are that low, if we did happen to hit somebody and run them over, a little cut on their head would be the least of their worries !

A few images come to mind !!

Faggot integra.

 I think anyone would rather have a DC2 than a 6n

Don't worry, his integra is stunning, alot of work has gone into it! I'd give a bollock to own it.
