i said to many people that i wasnt going to show the wheels before U.D...but i cant help it...i just want to show them off now there done.

so after 2 weeks of waiting, the Steffans were painted yesterday.

they were going to be white over black marble...but we tried a test card of it and it just wasnt going to work...

so this is what they are now:

they started out like this...kerbed and crap basically:

then they made a trip to Rainbow Polishing in Oldbury and i got them back like this:

i then got them already like this at work awaiting paint:

now onto the really fun part.

we put a light coat of etch primer on any parts that needed:

we then laid down a BMW Jet Black basecoat:

after a few coats of that and letting it dry, we applied Outrageous marble effect...which brought them to this:

i couldve left it at that...but i wanted something different...so in came the candy apple red:

and after 5 coats of laquer...they were done:

and this right here is the money shot:

i am so fucking pleased with these...i was like a 5yo kid smiling like a Cheshire cat.

bring on E38 when i can enter them into the 'Best Wheels' category.

I've got to make sure Lewis doesnt scratch them when he put the rubber back on.

he paying for them if he does.

point been, i only paid £70 to have them refurbed and polished and a portion of fish and chips and some fags to have them painted...

the joy of working in a bodyshop and been allowed to have them done as promo work

if i get enough requests, i might be tempted to go out and test fit one on the car...but i cant lower it back down as theyve got no tyres on atm.

as for putting the wheels on...i dont really want to try them today, as i need to let the paint/laquer harden a little more.

so it might be next weekend when i test fit them.

i didnt paint them, even though i work in a bodyshop, i dont know how to paint haha.

my gaffer did them for me.

they took about 2-3hrs to paint them...given the amount of layers that had to go on.

i'm making fun of your username willy!
