I wasn't 100% certain when i was going down the early stage pics, but the last shot settled it for me, they look amazing dude!! cant wait to see them on the car

i shall try and get them test fitted at the weekend...as i said, i want them to harden properly first.

as for seeing them in the flesh...i might be on a club stand at U.D, not 100% sure yet but I've put my car forward to be on it.

as for lows...the back will be going lower and i dont want to much stretch as there gonna be dailies and i dont want anything to mad.

id much, much more prefer to lose a wing mirror than have to re-do a wheel.

i just hope they dont get scratched when the tyres are put back on.

just make sure they put the tyres on correctly!!

No part of the machine should touch the rim apart from the 3 feet that clamp on the inside of the wheel.

My mate did my schmidts and didnt put a mark on them!

from talking to someone, they reckon the only damaged part might be the rim...from where those clamps go on the rim.

ill get them to put some rags on the centre hole or summat.

i went to school with the lad I'm taking them to, ill just get his dad to do them instead [more experiance]...Higgo had his done there so all should hopefully be ok.

removing all the laquer peel, kerbing and general shitness...then mirror polishing set me back £70 for all 4 wheels.

hmm. There should be some tyre fitting machines that grab the wheel on the inside. Wheel should always be face up. So the front lip is never clamped. They also should have rubber caps to prevent any damage!

most new machines do, but the only place ull find them is the REALLY expensive places like VAG themselves lol

now you mention it..it was my mate at VW that fitted my tyres

ok so to prevent knackering the rims up a friend told me that he covers the floor with loads of cloths holds the tyre up (as it would be rolling) and slam the rim in really hard (back of rim towards the tyre) this means you only have to lever a small part of the tyre on the front!! you can go abit rougher on the rears obviously! get a bike inner tube cut i and slide the tyre iron into it, the rubber will grip the rim and will help prevent scratching them! them machines are rim killers!

when you lever the tyre over the front, You dont actually lever it on the wheel. Theres a part on the machine you lever it on.

Like i've said, Fitting a tyre correctly is non contact with the rim apart from the pins holding it to the machine.

Yes I know it's the little curve shape that sticks out and takes the tyre of and you lever from that but I've only seen like 2 people use it correctly! The rest have levered the rim!

Yeah i know what you mean fella. I've seen chimps levering the tyre on the rim.

I always insist on watching the so called "tyre specialists" fit a tyre!
