Ford Fanboys Hating on VW

Featured Replies

Well I've tried to redress the balance with some motorport and trackday dubs including my golf to show we're not all guy-liner and tight jean wearing scenesters!

But you've been ignored and they are still focusing on some of the shit cars that have been posted up...

only one way to settle this...get the flame spitting vw boys to have a vw vs ford day at santa pod or something...i'm sure that the 'beastly' sierra cosworth boys will love gettin there arses handed to them by beetles etc

And WTF is it with those round stainless exhaust tips with the rolled ends??? They all have one of those.

Oi, I've got one like that on my Polo! I suppose most of the performance systems they use have outlets like that.

To be fair, in my opinion, most of the VW's posted in that thread look horrific, far to much stretch on most of the tyres, and some are far to OTT with smoothing.

99% of Fords just look like lairy chav wagons, thats all they use on the local council estates down this end! All Fiesta's and sierras.

i have 2 things to say about fords:

Found On Roadside Dead

and

Fix Or Repair Daily.

Neither of which are true of the average Ford. Its not like a 6n2 GTi is as reliable as a Sport Ka, is it?

Look this thread is pointless, it's obvious that unless you modify your car for performance your a homosexual and your car is not only shit but dangerous.

I really like fords

But i like vws more. I'm never one to slate another car brand unless its due. I'm also a massive fan of 205 peugeots, had about 6 of em. lol

so do i (old skool ones any way), and i'm pretty sure my next big project will be a mk1 capri, but your fucked if you think i'll be going to any ford shows with it after this, they seem like a right bunch of single minded plebs, the shows must be reet boring, 'my turbo is bigger than your turbo' :?

That said went to a meet/show and shine organised by the classic ford boys near Bury St. Eds last year called cars in the park, was an awesome sunday, a huuuge selection of all marques from "vintage" mg's through to that gold front engined rearwheel drive derby and everything else inbetween, will deffo be going again this year if it's on!

Your basing it on one website remember, you've got to think, some other sites are just as bad for having an opinion and sticking to it regardless of the badge on the front of their car.

I can happily admit that i'm thinking of attending some Retro Ford shows this year, I've been to one in my life, and i plan on doing many more now that I can drive, but i doubt i'll be attending the big well known shows, more of the local ones, or at least not as well exposed.

I'm only speaking from pesonal experience, alot of my family have had fords,

and they were allways complaining of something going wrong, even a 54 plate mondeo!

horney apparently your a Spazmoid, how old are the people on that website?

I take it these ford boys havnt ever seen or heard of the berg cup! Plenty of floppy haired, skinny jeans wearing emos driving crappy camber vw's that are worse handling than standard

Just looks like a car that is going through a bit of a rolling resto, doesnt look like someone took a perfect working order car and then decided to make it looks shite just of the sake of it.

One of my mates had a xr2. Took some pictures of it if anyones interested.

Damn, it appears to have rusted abit.

lol

 Nice one.

someone post some the highest performance cars on here on the ford forum please :p they keep moaning about performance, get some 20vs and pikey mods on their!

Bear in mind the quickest couple of cars on that forum have done over 200mph at brunters, and some of them are running 9s up the quarter, might not be as easy to impress as you think, lol

Yeah I thought that was a bit harsh, I've been nothing but polite and even support some of their views!

Was gonna say, the amount of quick VW's about compared with fords is so minor haha. Partly why i read performance ford rather than performance VW

when was the last time anyone saw stretched tyres kill?

Never....I've heard stories but nothings ever really been proven

when was the last time anyone saw stretched tyres kill?

Providing you realise you have far less grip than you should have, and drive accordingly (like you would in the wet), it shouldnt kill anyone, its fairly predictable at least, far better than the wrong shocks anyway!

Still stupid though, just fit the right size tyres and they last longer, and give you more grip.

Do you not notice the irony when its the VW scene claiming "rust is not a crime" all the time and then vw'ers have a go at fords for rusting, lol

You are of course correct though, old fords rust like fuck, far worse than old VAG's

I'm bored with the performance issue. This is a club for Polo owners,i should think clubmatiz have a more speed orientated population.

My MK2 won me over when it was a 1.3 and my previous car was a 3yo Fiat Seicento Sporting which was a right laugh. I'm interested in what slow Fords they have to be passionate about..
