There's always controversy between different make/model car owners. Fact.

Just look at the owners of mk2 and mk3 polo's, most can't stand mk4's. It's simple elitest nature without meaning to be elitist.

That thread rolls with perceptions galore. They've seen a few pictures or a few people driving around in "rat style" VW's and throw the same, pile of shite, emo whore scene kid stereotype that some of us even think, to all modified VW owners.

It's the same perception I had of Zetec-s drivers, chavs who can't drive and think their car is the fastest thing on the planet. This is all derived from simply seeing a lot of these people drive Zetec-s' like heroes.

As for this thread. Well what is there to argue? The modification scene is what it is and always will be people doing what they think looks nice. If anyone thinks the euro scene is being copied. Maybe they should give themselves a smack across the face with something cold and hard and think as to why people are "copying" it. They might think it looks good. Just as people will think huge bodykits on a hatchback will look good, and lexus lights and track style cars, or JDM, or USDM.

This could go on forever but will clearly come out with no end result. Just take the scene as it is, do what you were doing before, stop worrying about what other people are doing and enjoy some of the amazing cars that are being churned out.

To be honest from what I've seen its all the kids that have got into VWs over the last few years that are the ones who think they are uber elite for owning a Volkswagen. They slate cars for having bodykits so the owner goes out and makes it 'euro' and they still slate it. Essentially what they want is to be 'above' everyone else. Having a Volkswagen doesn't make you above anyone, being 'euro' doesn't make you above anyone. Its all down to taste.

I'm not really fussed if people start shaving there Clios, Corsas, Novas, Puntos etc etc cause I like that style and I think it works well on anything. Obviously there will be horrid cars like that clio will the fully smoothed bumper but then again there was a 6n2 with the same thing done and it looked gash on both cars.

I don't see why attention to detail on a Volkswagen is okay but attention to detail on a Corsa isn't. I'd rather see it on some Porsche hoops, on the floor with a bit of smoothing than with a huge win and massive fart can.

No wonder everyone outside of Volkswagen thinks were a bunch of nice people. So many people act like elitists with there heads up there own arses its bound to happen.

I see what you're saying there. There are various comments made, however, about mk4's that do give off that "elitist" vibe. I naturally wasn't aiming at every earlier mark owner there, but it's the same principle as with the ford/VW debate.

Wearing expensive things for expensive things sake is rather chavvy IMO, like buying a 400 pound lacoste tracksuit and only use for running where the police are involved, where as a 30 quid one would do the job the same, if not better

I didn't even know they were Rockport until after i bought them. They dont look like Rockport,they've only got six eyelets each. I bought them because they were a top quality proper pair of boots. But i wasn't keen when i got home and saw XBS or some tosh branded on the heel,like it means I'm a beer head who likes stabbing randoms in Liverpool.

I have a Saxo with a 4" backbox and 15" Fox racing multispoke alloys, tail lights and indicators tinted by me with tinting spray, 6x9s in the parcel shelf, normally with dubstep/random dance coming from them, it's not looking good for me is it?

Actually, I changed the multispokes for some freshly powdercoated VTR rims, maybe all hope is not lost!

I'm sure that saxo used to be in wolverhampton around my school. that was the first euro'd car id seen about.before all the volkswagens even though there arent many about down my sides. Got to be one of the best 'euro'd cars iv seen'. the interioir was beautiful on that and iv only seen that done on cars in the last couple years.

I think people are confusing white males that dont dress in jeans but where tracksuits and instead of liking the bbs wheels they like the wolfrace style, however are still well mannered and are decent people with those who dress in the same kind of clothing etc, but mannered in a differnet way and have no motivation in life but to live on benefits and drink pisss.

chav means council house adult vandal! it is not a style or a genre of music or an attitiude it is a type of person, very few people are actually chavs but get labelled with it, a few of my very good mates are often reffered to as chav but are real stand up guys and are not like people prejudge them to be, think people are just becoming more prejudice and throwing things around like clothing and age of person determining the nature of thier personality!

there is definately a group in society that are causing alot of problems but its like afghanistan, not every one who lives there and weres a talib (afghanistani hat) is taliban, but the forces there are trying to sort the good from the bad!
