My sister and her husband bought a VW Caravelle with plans to make it into a camper van, but it might have hit trouble. The police came round her place today with some questions regarding the van but she wasn't around as she was ironically getting her MOT done. I was there and they took a long time to read the chassis number and I found it a bit odd but not that much. We went our seperate ways but after a couple of hours I receieved a call that the police came round when we were getting the MOT done. I asked her to give me the VIN and ran it through ETKA and got nothing and then I ran it through some VW vin decoders online and it's supposedly an Audi from Asia and was built in taipei...

In any case, I think the window VIN and the one in the book are wrong and there must be another one stamped somewhere, but where? Does anybody know where to look for it?

Does the VIn in the window match the one on the V5\MOT?

Not sure, I don't have the option to check that right now, as the van is parked quite a few miles away. I am going to check it first thing in the morning, so incase the window VIN fails me, I'll try the stamped one.
