Dunno, incredibly anal when it comes to building engines haha!

Keen on your new wheels man, still think you need a 1.6 in your life though :-D

What wheels/tyre sizes? An how low?

  • Author

Not your random-est!

Haha

Thats down ~40mm front and back with 185 55 13's.

It looked great, needed to come down another 20mm on the front though.

M

looks like more of a 50-60mm drop that mate, I've got more arch gap with 14/55's and thats a 40mm kit

Ignore max's technical answer.. This one is the answer that matters

crap wheels and sizes and not low enough

That hurt.

It was sold to me as a 40mm kit, if thats the case with yours then its likely to be 60mm like you say.

Could you post a simular pic of yours?

i admire your work, credit to you mate! wish i had access to the machinery you do, fair play !!

Nice 8-) Where does that bracket bolt to then?

There to replace the standard brackets used for lifting out the engine mate.

Just makes it look better.

M

Ah right, it looked to me like you'd designed it to bolt somewhere else as the original ones only had one and two bolts holes you see.

Nice work anyway, they do definitely look better :)

  • Author

Cheers dude, they wont be going where the originals went.

Brought the MH back from work today so will be dropping it in tomorrow, Fingers crossed this rain and wind stops.

Cheers to whoever moved this thread to the mk3 section. Who was it? :-D

Bit of a crap update.

Some more bits came today:

Planned on mating up the gearbox to the re-built MH block but the amount it rained this weekend, it would have wrecked all my hard work.

Sooo, didn't get anything done :-( , means I'm gonna have to work overtime next weekend to catch up.

M

good ol gsf.

ps, do you have a spare bottom pulley for a AAU or AAV? :-D

Need to go back and get 12 driveshaft flange bolts soon lol

Alternator belt or cambelt? Why you need one? Messed your old one up with the trigger wheel? Lol

Alternator one. Nah was gonna take it off my old car then realised it didn't run true in the first place
