Well, its been a pretty good week for polly.

Sorted out a pretty bad oil leak (salty knows how bad  ) , my car now doesn't mark it's territory.

Also developed a horrendous flat spot at half throttle up to around 3k rpm, hooked it up to my new digital lambda analyzer and it was running lean around that engine speed, and slightly everywhere else, air leak....

Narrowed it down to a knackered primary choke spingle bearing/seal so swapped them out for some brand new ones, few pics...

After:

Now she's running pretty good again, still really needs a day of swapping out jets and reading what the analyzer come out with.

Also a few pics of the steering wheel...

Haha, cheers dude!

Get them arches sorted

Soldierd on this weekend with what can only be described as the worst hang-over i've ever had

Now... because this is going to be pretty low when its finished, and the new 7J wheels out back add alot of girth with their pretty low offset, the rear arches need alot of work.

So, first thing was to roll the inner lip upwards to stop it slashing through the tyres..

These wheels are for sale by the way, and are not the ones ill be running obviously.

It just came off the jack here, sits around 10mm lower when its settled down...

Next thing was to sand off all the arches paint ready for filler:

IMAG0652.jpg

Still a bit of undercoat there though..

Then filler time!

Also started on a small dent just infront of the light...

IMAG0657.jpg

Then wet sanded it all flat and gave it a coat of high build primer to fill in all the pin holes and texture...

IMAG0659.jpg

They still need a bit of work to get them perfectly straight, but they're looking pretty PHAT!

IMAG0664.jpg

Tucking 14x8J et 25 steelies FTMFW 8-)

Few other random shots...

Started work on the cats tonight after work. For now i've just gave them a light polish on the outer dishes, but in true b-shaw style i wont be letting slip what i have planned for the rest of the wheel. (shush robbo)

Few pics of polishing the dishes..

Cheers dude, your's is too!, it's making me want round headlights again, there's something about how much more retro the mk2 looks than the mk3 that doing it i think!

Yeah the boss is pretty cool. Still needs finishing though, would like it powdercoated etc.

And no i didn't make the the TCA bushes, but i have dimensioned them up and will start to manufacture some better ones in the near future.

Nah, i'm doing it properly dude. Its going to be fully red oxide at some point, but then ill be flattening it all down again and spraying it tornado red again.

The polybushes are from a company called strongflex, have a look on ebay. For the full set of TCA bushes they were £40, there made of good stuff aswell, compared them to powerflex and there's nothing in it so i'd buy from them all day long!

As for them making a massive differance, i'm not totally sure. After fitting the stage2 frame and the polybushes, the car does seem to be slightly less "spongy" and tighter, but i'm sure the next time i go over the snake's pass or to a track they will shine 8-)
