I'll help you build up an engine if you want matty?

If i you were gonna do it, its i would add a ported head, made a big differance on its own on my last engine.

ported head it is then can you do em or did you send yours off

I did mine over a few days, more "smoothing" that ported. Anyone can do it with a bench, dremmel and emery paper.

dont have any of those things ill pay you a visit in new year and we can scan over a few things meanwhile i found this which you may like

I know I'm not allowed in here but i thought id stop by and show some love.....

So whats actually happening on this? Gettin as bad as tobys thread haha!

Faaak, that sounds sweet.

GT engine, plus weber and highlift cam = Epic noise. Better than any AFH tobes 8-)

Scrapping it bro!

Well, be using it for a few months yet. then robbing some much needed parts from it then break the rest and scrap.

Dunno what to do with those Calipers now... might just keep um as spares or something.

Not worth selling with no seals etc, but not worth selling after fitting new ones either really

Whaaat? why are you getting rid of it?

Oh and no 8V will EVER sound better than Doms Dragon green 6n did.

Wait and see 8-) , what was it running?

yours sounded sweet at action max even though it was kicking out oil lol cant wait for this to be done its going to be epic and the noise will be proper dirty if it sounds like that mk2

by the way when you want to put the engine in give me a shout ill glady come help

Lol, that was the fried piston rings on cylinder 4. I did a compression check on the engine when i got back from action, 150psi on cylinders 1-3 , 40psi on cylinder 4

It may be a while untill i drop the engine in, got the bay to sort out too!

A moderate update for you all....

Spent a few days over the Christmas break in my workshop. In the quest for a compression ratio of around 11.8:1 - 12:1 (Big i know, will be running it on high octane fuel)

I worked out that i'd need to remove 2.1mm of material from the pistons and block, to get the original compression ratio of 9.5:1 upto the above figure, this is also with the valve pockets machined back in to allow for the high lift newman. See the link a few posts above for more information on the topic...

Clean? Shes a right mess dude, Gonna be fully stripping the bay so i can do abit of smoothing, cleaning and re-painting.

Full plans are on previous page IIRC.

Think she needs a new offside wing though, a mix between a bad repair on the lower part and me being very rough on it during removal,

Everything else, (bonnet, other wing, front, doors , rear quarters, roof and boot) will be resprayed, by me as i'm not that bothered about finish quality, i'll do a good enough job for me and thats all that matters

Engines hopefully gonna be abit of a monster for a 1400cc 8v...
