Yeah it will be the pilot tube method, i've read that the boost pressure must be referenced to above and below the diaphram too?

Just had a look on eBay and they sell for stupid money, its going on carbs not EFI.

I think the linear boost maybe more suited to getting the bike carbs to work.

What RPM does the G40 hit maxmaxmaxmax boost with toothies?

G40 will hit peak boost and hold at circa 2-3k depending on cam/head spec. May see slightly higher boost by 7k as the VE of the motor drops off.

Toothies don't gain you any power over a 65mm pulley, they just mean you don't have to worry about keeping v-belts covered in belt dressing and nicely tensioned to maintain consistent boost.

Ignition system, hmmm, looking at the other simular builds, the boost referenced vacuum can and standard distributor have proved to be adequate, so it might be that at first, then once its running well, i might look at getting something that is mappable,

Megajolt is pretty easy to install and work with, fitted it to my friends fiesta in conjunction with bike carbs, works well. But IMO the effort for that I'd make a little more and go full EFI

What does the kit consist of? It would work even better if your adding a charger i'd guess, as any error in spark timing would have a much more drastic effect!

I'll be using CBR600 carbs just because there covered well and have the TPS there already.

This will be an after project though, once i've got it running properly on the standard dizzy and vacuum can.

£125!! Might fuck the dizzy off all together, it would cost that for all the other stuff!

Phone Aldon automotive. At RR day they said they'd nearly finished their mappable ignition which would work with a dizzy! And built in limiter/immob, and not expensive!

megajolt is so easy to use and set up. we did it to ollys old mk3. aldon will set it up aswel as they tweeked it at the RR day 2 years ago.

Plenty of base maps available for megasquirt so I would imagine the megajolt would be the same. Plus who wouldn't want to be able to plug a lap top in and adjust shit?

They even have forums dedicated to megasquirt so I'd imagine these would either cover the megajolt or that may even have its own forums. There's a hell of a lot of info and help on the net for them

The Megajolt has a folder full of ignition maps with the software. There was one for a golf 16v which didn't look far off my flat dizzy curve at its low load map. There's info out there, you can even measure your standard dizzy to get an idea first.

If you do want some bike throttle bodies max let me know as I have some sat in the garage I was going to use but not going that way anytime soon and will let them go cheapish

Yeah i understand now, throttle position wouldn't have the direct link like it does in a NA engine,

Might be worth keeping an eye on eBay? Get one without the sensors and buy them separately to save monies. Buying a map sensor from omex is like £85 but on eBay the same 3 bar map sensor is like £35, even cheaper if you buy second hand ones
