Getting a car vic checked next monday.

Its got all new airbags and control box.

Just wondering if the airbag light has to be switched off for the VIC check?

any help you could give would be a great help

i would hazard a guess at yes it does need to be switches off, but must light up when you turn the car on, like abs lights, (so you cant just unplug it to make it pass)

I dont believe it does. When I had one done they didnt look at any of the damage and I hadnt completely repaired mine anyway so it had a bent and dented driver's side. The test is to only make sure that it is the right vehicle and not one that has been stolen and made to look like a written off car. So the airbag light shouldnt be a problem at all.

The VIC check is pretty much a paperwork check only.

when I had a car Vic'd it was a check to make sure the car was 'correctly pertaining to the vehicle it porported to be'

ie, it wasnt a cut/shut jobbie

Nope. VIC is Vehicle Identity Check. My 6N2 was a Cat C and was VIC'd without any form of reapirs being carried out. It still hasn't been repaired now (Bent boot floor, rear passanger door has to be slammed as zero panel gap and a few other bits). The VIC was just a check to see all the numbers onthe car matched the V5.
