bizarre that means you have negative locking

i presume your polo is a 6n as they usually have positive locking

yeah i thought it a bit odd but i read on one of the previous posts one guy tried it and it worked so i thought oh well give it a blast dr pepper time whats the worst that can happen. My car catches on fire :-D

yeah you are right a 6n more that likely the unit is faulty everyone else who bought this specific kit think its great!

Hi,

I'm new to the Polo site and I am having quite a lot of trouble fitting a remote kit to the car.

I have located the compressor pump and tested most of the wires at the pump (12 pin connector) however i am getting nothing out of the remote box.

I have found that there are

two brown wires which are negative (i believe),

two Red/White wires which seem to have a constant 12V supply,

two White/Yellow wires, one gets 12V when the drivers door is locked, the other I am unsure of,

one White/Green wire which gets 12V when the drivers door is unlocked,

There is also a

red wire (unknown)

black wire (unknown)

The car is a 2000 6N2 3 door, and I bought a kit off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

with this wiring diagram

http://tntautotuning.com/pics/keyless/instrutions-octo.jpg

Please could someone help as I am really stuck.

Thanks very much in advance.

to be honest that so called wiring diagram is uselss

can you tell me if you have any instructions stating the following for example

lock common

unlock common etc etc

then i may be able to help

your locking system on the polo should be negative multipoint

HOWEVER

i can confirm that the green should be the lock wire

the purple should be the unlock wire

the pink and the orange should by the looks of it connect to earth

and the white and the black in theory aren't needed

try it and let me know

Hi,

I have a manual locking polo, where I have to unlock/lock each door itself manually, not total closure, will one of the rclick kits still work?

Thanks for any help

Just a quickie.

Thanks to the previous from TROUBLESTARTER!

Without that info, I would probably still be cutting & soldering.

- My own interpretation of the rclick "wiring diagram" was quite far off the mark. rclick technical weren't actually that helpful. It was only posts from TROUBLESTARTER that indicated the correct wiring integration (to the factory vacuum system). Their diagram didn't really resemble the finished article.

So, not only a big Thank You - you saved me heaps of time,

but also an additional nudge to make this sticky!

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I am not at home with the car at the moment however I will try it as soon as I am back and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again

With my kit, the thick red wire has a fuse on? Do I just connect this to the central locking pump wire as normal? Or do I need to do something with the fuse?

Afternoon, topic resurrection but I've wired the rclick kit up as per your say here and the uk polo guide to my 6n2, great worked for 5 minutes now nothing... Tried swapping the yellow/black to no avail so back at square one. Any one have any ideas what's what? I had the led plugged in to see if the control unit is working with the key fob but it's not flashing at all when pushing any of the buttons? The pump works fine manually with key in the door also. Need to reprogramme the key or something? Anything will be a big help cheers in advance

If this post is still live, can anyone tell me whether I can use one of these kits to get my central locking working, as I obviously have a vacuum leak somewhere (drivers door lock I think) and the cost looks about the same as a second hand replacement lock. I must confess that I have a '98 cordoba (vario TDi), not a polo, but I understand it to be essentially the same car as the polo estate of the same age. I don't like the idea of cutting into the wiring though - doesn't the ECU need resetting when u do that kind of stuff?

Thanks troublestarter! Got mine working in a wimp! :) Still need to connect the brown wire to the flashes since there is no feedback at the moment - apart from the small pump noize. Do you have any tips on hiding it all? I have it all stuffed on top of the vac pump now but when you open up this panel the wires hang out on all sides..

Don't have the relay yet, I am considering it but hey I think this i good enough..

Here another positive review; thanks for the tutorial man! Got the Rclick working in no-time :)

Only thing I need to figure out is how / where to fit all the wires & how to neatly hide the cable running to the opposite taillight..

Massive bump on this.

Wired up as per the initial post (6n2)

When it hit the lock button, my pump buzzes. When i hit unlock, my dash lights up and my fuel pump primes!!

At no point does any actual locking / unlocking occur.

I've read the rest of the posts incase there was a clue, but my wiring colours dont seem to match what you guys have??

I have 2x red/ white

2x brown

1x skinny red

1x skinny black

1x white / green stripe

1x yellow / white stripe

1x white / yellow stripe

Sussed it with a little experimenting.

Unlock was white / green

lock was white / yellow.

For anyone contemplating getting a right click kit for a 6n2 pick up the kit with the plug and play adapter, makes getting up and running a two minute job if you can live without wiring in the indicators, though I will get round to doing that at some point and look at sorting the total closure as well.
