Thanks for the comments.

Green_Crayon - its not a gti lol its a 1.6

I like the gti badge on the front adds to the meanness at the front lol even though I'm a wanabee!

I was thinking though of changing the front grille to a debaged honeycomb one - but don't know if it will look any good?

what do people think??

they look good mate.. only like £35 off ebay aswell :)

where you get the honeycombe grill at the bottom.. i need some!!

Keep the badges and spray them black mate!! Personally i dont think they look as good without, but thats my opinion :)

oh that doesnt look to bad! hmm still deciding whether or not it looks naked without the badges! lol might have to spray the badges first see if i like the look of that!

and i got the honeycomb bottom grilles from vaglink - they are the sporty version not the real gti version but i cant see the difference really!

Also does anyone have any opinions on splitters?? cupra splitter - yay or nay?? :-)

Edited by matt_123

mines a GTi grille with a black vw badge. Personally i think it looks more classy than a debadged grille all together. Although Samgti on here has a debadged honeycombe grille and it makes his car look well mean

  • Author

Yeah I've just had a look at samgti's thread ! it does change the front of the car soo much along with that cupra splitter too looks like its ready to eat other cars on the road

venom sell the debadged honeycomb grills for the mk7

How did you find puttin the lamix on.. i got mine done and didnt find it too easy and its not smooth.

Just wondered where you got your spacers and what type as i need some too?

Thanks

the lamin x i put on my taking the grills out and removing the fog lights then sticking it in the middle of the fog and using a flat tool thing that they gave me to smooth it out to the edges, then cut round the excess, and both have come out perfect lol haha duno how never done anything like that before. ohh really i found it pretty straight forward. how did you do it then mate??

also i got one set of spacers off a guy off edition 38 and the other i bought off a mate so just need to get the bolts off ebay and ill be away! there both hubcentric mate.

ok ill give it another go i think, i got the grills off easy, but not quite sure how to take the fogs out so i can apply it better? any help is much appreciated,

Cheers dude

to take the grills out jus pull them the drivers side one has a small screw holding it in take that out n then pull the grill off then 3 torx screws hold the fogs in pull em out then take out the bulbs from the fogs then hey presto you have released the fogs. try do it on a flat surface too mate makes things easier.
