1979, i am the 3rd owner although the second owner did'nt use it AT ALL, i've looked over the engine and the parts all look fantastic condition (not surprising considering it has 48,459 miles on it!!)

specs

Chassis: mk1f Polo L - 1979

suspension: H&R cup kit 60mm, mk2/3 front struts.

brakes: mk3 polo calipers, carriers, discs and pads.

engine: Standard 900cc

wheels: standard steels

tyres: 155/80 13 (standard) lol

so heres some pics of my first ownership..

i could'nt stand such a great car being so untidy in the engine bay so i got to work with a dremel and lots of cleaning goods:

and i had to lower it too, so phill J kit (1 up from the bottom setting) with 70mm springs on rear and H&R cup kit gas shocks and springs on the front (height unknown)

close but no cigar ^^

As you can see the passenger door was bust(ish) so i got a better nick door to be resprayed

PAINTING NOW DONE!

Looks good, I also share your hatred of these things Must be late "T" registered, as the early T plate would have had chrome bumpers and a flat grille. Enjoy the mk1 and don't let it absorb all spare cash like mine do.

sounds good man! What are the plans for this? Concourse, or modded show car, or fast car?

gonna keep it old skool, restored to factory, dropped with a nice paint job (retro colour-thinking chocolate brown) on a nice set of wheels..
