hi guys and girls,

last week some lady decided to mate her front bumper with my back bumper when reversing out a car park. Now by the time i had noticed it was too late, she had gone. It was obviously her seeing as her car was dented and she didnt have a wing mirror, plus I've got a witness.

The thing is theres only a small scuff on my bumper, the thing that pisses me of if she didnt even stop.

I've reported it to feds and I've seen the car driving about and got the number plate, but not sure whether to take it any further!

Whats the procedure, as its a small scuff is it really worth getting her insurance invloved etc? will mine be affected? plus if i do will insurance come to check my car out? or will i ahve to send pics?

any help would be greatful

i'd get in touch with her and make her pay cash to fix it. i wouldn't bother going through insurance.

report the slag pal, end of the day you have a scuff, you will either leave it and not do anything or end up payin for it yourself

basically she reversed out as both our cars were parked straight, so to get out she would need to reverse and turn, and seeing as she didnt have a wing mirror she hit my bumper. Dunno if thats made any sense to you lol.

She will most prob deny it if i was to confront her, her cars f'd up as it is so cant do anything more to that lol.

Yeh true, but what will happen? will my insurance rise or anything? will they come to inspect the car as its just a scuff. I wanted to get my bumpers smoothened any way lol.

well you could get hold of her, if you see her driving or she lives local follow her till she gets out and confront her, saying you have a witness, and if she wants to settle it without insurance then its all good, i dont know if it will rise because she hit you, thats what i think anyway

as ^ clarkson said - follow the tramp down! this kind of shit really pisses me off cause it happened to me not that long ago but eventually i tracked the wan**r down and made him cough up in the nicest possible way

people cant just drive off cause there cars a heap anyway

yeh i think that will be my best bet. I'm positive ill see her again so will most definately ask her to pay up or ill go through insurance. Ill show her all the papers feds gave me so shel belive me for sho lol.

You want a little known form from the DVLA called a V888 that you can download,fill it in with all the accident details and crime ref number from the feds and your witness details and for a fee of £2:50 they will tell you who the vehicle is registered to,so then pass that onto your insurance company......
