Stretch options for 13x7 - 165/55 or 155/65

Featured Replies

..or not so simples?

Weighing up the options here, not really too worried about affecting my rolling radius or anything like that as it is already going to be messed up.

I was first thinking of going for 155/65s for that little bit more stretch and because there were much cheaper options..

"ROTALA 73T - £18.58" Being the cheapest, but I'm not sure how well it will actually stretch?

"PRIMEWELL PS830 73T - £20.25

MARSHAL KR11 73T - £21.71

TRACMAX F102 73T - £21.78

TIGAR SIGURA 73T - £21.86

BARUM BAR BRILLANTIS 2 - £24.20

BARUM BRILLANTIS 73T - £24.20

YOKOHAMA AA01 73T - £26.56

FALKEN SN828 73T - £26.89

TOYO 350 73T - £27.11

FIRESTONE MULTIHAWK - £28.91"

These are the other tyre options for this size, would it just be better paying more and going for toyos or yokos which are likely to stretch better?

Or, do I go for the 165/55s? Only option I can find for them is this..

"NEW RADIAL 70H - £28.25" Not really sure how well they will stretch, even though they will obviously stretch less.

Ideally I would go for the cheap £18 ones but if that isn't recommended for stretching onto 7J then what would you all do? Some better quality 155/65s (Toyos or Yokos) or the only 165/55 option?

This will lose my stretch virginity so want to get it right.. and make it special ;)

155/65 is just wayy to much sidewall..

165/55 is a slight stretch, it's the best you'll get on a 13x7, they look ok tbh..

I had them on my Alleycats:

they look really nice to be fair.. although 155/65s are only like 10mm more

what do you think as to manufacturers, does it really matter what make they are as to how well they will stretch?

even 155/65 doesn't seem like alot of stretch compared to some I've seen.. especially with such a big side wall

what you reckon?

id go for the yokos. Last you ages and look the shiz.

155/65's will be balloons mate. I'd definitely go 175/50 yoko's or 165/55 nankangs

Hmmm but 175s are like no stretch?

I want a teeny bit at least lol, and 10mm extra radius on the tyres Smithy had above wouldn't look that shit would it?

Anyone actually run 155/65s on 13x7s before? I noticed TyreStretch.com doesn't have any pics which doesn't help :(

just to let you know sidewall 'measurements' arent in mm, its a percentage of the tyre width..

(155/100)*65 = 100.75mm

(165/100)*55 = 90.75mm

100.75 - 90.75 = 10mm

Surely it's not going to look that ridiculous? Has anyone actually tried this tyre / wheel size combo?

I've never seen that size used on 13x7's so there's probably a good reason..

165/55 are perfect for just a little stretch dude

Thing is, the sidewall bulges out when theres a lot of it, giving less stretch, the angle is also reduced, reducing the effect of reduced tread width further.

Also, get the better tyres, I wish i could get half decent brand tyres for £26! Thats half the price I pay!

i had 155/70/13 on a my atiwees and it looks shocking mate

dont do it !!

can get you some pics

edit: there is alot of stretch on them but they jus look shockin !!

woulda been a big waste of money lol

what you gonna go for ?

I'm putting 175/50/13 on these now not as much stretch but will look alot better than the balloon tyres lol

165/55 it is! For a little stretch that's exactly what you want, trust me!

Anyone have trouble actually fitting these sizes?

My atiwes already have 165/55 on (Nankangs)

But everyone round here is reluctant to actually fit them, the only option I've seen is Demon Tweeks, but don't fancy the trek.

Yeah a lot of places will tell you to fack off. Just need to find somewhere like a tuning company or summit, thats where I get mine done no problems.

if your near kings lynn, norfolk, pm me we'll be able to order you some cheaply as we're trade, and also able to fit them for you
