My wheels desparetely needed refurbing. not sure if ill paint or polish yet but I'm trying to strip all the paint off atm. Heres a few pics:

Does anyone know if its possible to take these little bots out of the wheels because I'm finding it hard to strip the paint from around them and obviously will be hard to try and polish these areas?

they look like imitation splits to me so they won't be real bolts or removeable.

They look like fake bolts to me. Best way to remove the paint would be to have them shot blasted, or if you can't do that then nitromors and a wire brush. As for polishing them up again, gonna be extremely difficult, maybe a chrome powdercoating!

do you think they would be alright if i just used nitromers to remove the paint then painted with silver rattle can??

was gonna polish the dish but may as well just paint silver if i cant polish it all?

Get them sandblasted from a company near you, anything from 5 to 10 pounds a wheel, then get your self some gloss black paint and a can of laquer and spray them your self, will look the shiz.

if you want to polish the dish then go for it, just paint the bolts and part they're mounted on too.

Some imitation splits you can take the bolts out but obviously it doesn't split the wheel. Dunno if you can with those, suppose the only way to find out is to try!

They're autec wheels. Autec They're not on their website so must be old ones..

Look alot better having wet and dry. Is it possible to use t-cut on them instead of autosol or something like that?

yeah, oh my days i literally spent 5 mins with a bit of t-cut and they look amazing lol. i cant wait to finish them tommorrow and get some pics! (and by them i mean the one I'm doing haha)

yeah tcut gets all the shit out, what grit you using wet n dry wise? or did u use?

started on 400, 600, 800, 1200.

nah haven't got any polishing mops. went into this a bit blind/unequiped :S seems to be going alright tho lol

yeahh, can get a set of mops off the bay for like £7 posted with polish blocks, use them then use a clean one with tcut, then autosol by hand...perfection

ok ill get on it. This is how its looking atm. Dish did look like the centre bout an hour ago so not too bad. Sstill lots to do tho... polishing shows up the stubborn paint nicely as well haha

I dunno how your polishing but I always bolt them to the car and let the engine do all the work. Much easier
