4 STUD FITMENT

WHEEL MAKE IS "RADIUS"

TYRES FITTED ARE 195/45/15

theres no offset or bore given, or should i need to worry about that?

cheers

heres a website with tables for all makes and models of cars, found it months ago it shows u all the wheel fitment details that u need to know http://www.carlsalter.com/wheel_fitments.html

shoud do. 4 stud vauxall are same stud pattern, and similar offset and centre bore :-)

Believe the centre bore is slightly larger but in all honesty doesnt really make a great deal of difference. Can either get spigot rings or personally its no harm just slapping them on and the offsets are in the similar range so yes theyl fit dude.

ok cool cheers for the replies

The centre bore is smaller on Vauxhalls and yes it does make a difference. If the bore is to small then its hard to get on. If you do get it on it will be a total bastard to get off. To the point where you might have to sledge hammer the wheel off, even more so if it corrodes to the hub. If the centre bore is to big then all the strain is on the bolts instead of the hub which is where it should be and you risk damaging the hub or wrecking the bolts. If the offset on the wheels is typical Vauxhall high offset then you may have issues with it fouling the strut.

DON'T GIVE OUT DUFF ADVICE. IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE ANSWER THEN DON'T ANSWER - SIMPLE!!!

shit man chill out.........

i got the bore size of vauxhalls wrong big woopty what is it with people on this forum.

Lets face it the actuall chances of you damaging the hub or destroying your wheel bolts are slim to none if your driving how you should be driving and not like some plank. And lets face facts here driving with bore sizes too big is hardly an imediate hazard when we have other members on here driving around with cracked sumps and seeing no problem to spill oil all over the place when people like myself then come behind them on are bikes and end up on the floor.......

DRVING WITH BORE SIZES TOO LARGE FOR THAT OF A VEHICLE IS HARDLY AN ISSUE!!!!!!!!

I've driven cars with bore sizes to large than the cars manufacturers spec and i know hundreds of people that do the same, many of which will be users on forums such as these and e38 and wheelwhores and performance ford and such like. Besides i mentioned spigot rings to decrease the bore should you feel the need to buit i personally dont.

So get off your high horse and get a grip will you

You ever actually tried getting the wheels off a car where the centre bore is to small? Obviously not because you've not had to sit with a sledge hammer battering the wheels off because they won't just drop off like they should. You might think its being a smart arse now but say he gets a flat and can't change to a spare because you've said that the bore size will be okay when it won't then you'll feel like a idiot. Yeah its not so bad when you have the tools but if you don't have the tools then your fucked.

Also for your smart arsed information since the sump cracked I carry a bag of granules in the boot so if it leaks out anywhere I can pour them over it so its not an immediate hazard to other road users so quit your crying about slipping. If my sump was leaking like your making out I'd not be able to take the car anywhere cause all the oil would leak out of it 2 min down the road. Instant gasket, creates a seal. Hence why the oil is INSIDE my engine and not on the road.

What it is with people on this forum is that they give out shitty information and then get shirty because they are wrong and have been told they are wrong. When your wrong just learn from it instead of crying about it.

wow - the fella only asked if some wheels would fit!?!

if the wheels are aftermarket, i.e. not genuine vuaxhall wheels, they will most probably have a large centre bore fitted with spigot rings to bring the bore down to the correct size. If this is the case, its just a simple job of going on egay and buying some spigots to give the vw centre bore.

pcd will be fine, but consider that being from a vauxhall they could have a high offset, they generally run an offset of around et50, this can be fixed by running spacers if you dont like the tucked appearance et50 will give on a vw.

Finally if they are aftermarket, you will need to run different wheel bolts as most use tapered seats, whereas vw use radius bolts.

If they are gen vauxhall rims, the centre bore needs increasing to 57.1mm, this can be done using a step drill bit on a pillar drill if you have access to one, or most engineering shops will do it for a small fee.

Or the pikey way is to use a dremel! this can work well though, just work out how many mm of material you need to remove, then mark up the alloy using something sharp to score into the metal (works better than a marker pen, as its less likey to get rubbed off)

then roughly take out the metal to within half a mm using a dremel or drill fitted with a flap wheel. Once close, finish by hand using a small needle file. I've used this method before and it works well, but its only as good as the person doing the work, so if you arent patient and carefull i wouldnt use this method

I'm not here to argue pal but gotta disagree with running on a larger bore after what happened on my mk3 golf. after driving round for a day on the wrong size spiggot rings my wheel nuts vibrated themselves loose and the wheel come off fortunatly only at 5 mph down an housing estate. was quite gutted with the result.

spiggots are worth the pennies you pay mate!

I've fitted wheels with larger centre bores many many times, on different cars, and have never used spigot rings, never had any problems

likewise, the mk3 golf has clearly failed for having oversized ripspeed specials fitted. poor car chose suicide over those badboys.

p.s. to the owner, its just some light hearted banter, and the probable reason is that you didnt do your bolts up tight enough. if they were the correct torque the wheel bolt wont just undo, in fact when torqued up, all the force of the car is going through the mating face of the hub and the mating face of the wheel

well iv been told by many that the center bore was the main issue of this happening,

and i replaced the wing and there was no damage done to the hub or wheel so fitted the spiggots and the same wheel bolts and everything was fine and wheel bolts stayed tight

but still even if it wasnt i dont fancy taking the risk again for the sake of a couple of quid

Listen Heartagram, i was only partially reffering to people such as yourself. Untill you mentioned i didnt realise you were the owner of that vento the orientation of my reply to your comment wasnt centred around you. I was reffering too people in general that role around with far greater issue to the safety of their vehicles, themselves and other road users than having larger bore sized rims wheel on their car.

And in terms of smaller bore size.....i wasnt reffering to a smaller bore size was i????. If you had read my replies i was under the impression that the bore size for a vauxhall was larger than that of a vw in which case the information and advice i gave was completely relevant.....shit i mean give me a break its an easy mistake to make.

But fuck me man i know my way round a car and i certainly know what I'm doing. I dont come on here often and when i do theres always hot headed people such as yourself complaining about someones advice or theres always bickering going on amongst each other on here.

Why dont you just focus on helping people rather than moaning. And if you didt agree with the advice i gave just politely said i was wrong and corrected me!!!! People need to be far more diplomatic and far less hot headed pn here.

chill guys, i appreciate all your opinions....

back on topic, i think these look like after market alloys, make is RADIUS. So spiggots will do the trick hopefully :)

This is the second thread I've read today that has caused arguments, people need to chill and get down off their high horse.

This is the second thread I've read today that has caused arguments, people need to chill and get down off their high horse.

second......your lucky usually i can go every other thread and find some sort of disagreement and argument.

But anyways dude as you said back on topic. Do ou have the wheels available to try on the car??? cause if they are aftermarket alloys and the bore size is bigger just slap them on see how they stand with yourself and if likey likey then just get some spigots on there if you want to.

If the centre bore is too small then you can have them bored out to make the centre bores bigger so theyl fit the car mate.

i didnt intend to create an argument as i stated and i know you didnt aim your reply at me. i was only giving my

mine and others opinion. i just wanted to make a point out of my previous experiances

appologies my way pal :( I'm only knowledged to a certain extent and dont wanna be one of those thst over rate there knowlage like some

its dropped now anyways

sorry agian to all

Dont be daft pal

No need to apologise. Just some people are rather hot headed and then some others have a stressful day at work come back try to chillax and then get wound up by someone on here. Its harmless banter anyways dude.

Like me for instance i can see what heartagram was saying with where he was coming from and in the sense that if you dont know what your talking about then you shouldnt give duff advice. But its not i dont know what I'm talking about it was a simple case of i made a small mistake and in regards to larger bore sizes can see the issue behind it but myself from my personal experience and others will agree theyve never had any problems with running it that way. For whatever reason heartagram felt he needed to respond the way he did and i felt the need to respond the way i did.

But its all forgotten about now, youl find alot of little arguments like that all over the forum but to be honest mate they are forgotten about in no time and if someone is really lets it bother them that much then they need to get a grip.

ok, just an update, got the wheels now, bore is 61mm i think, need to measure it again properly but its bigger anyway.

So just to make sure, I need some spigot rings and some new wheel nuts or can I use my current? anything else i need? (hopefully wont need spacers, haven't tried them on yet)

The centre bores primary and only use is to cente the wheel.

It holds no weight at all!

The weight is held by the friction between the mating face of the hub and the wheel.

And the bolts are there to apply the torque.

However, i would reccomend using spigots, they make sure that the wheel sits perfectly central, something you cannot acheive without the correct bore. iv made spigots before at work , give me a shout if you cant find any

yea would rather have spigots on tbh....

and thanks for the offer but these look ok to me:

what about the wheel nuts? do I need new set of them too?
