does your insurance cover you for breakdowns?? if so why not buy the car obviously insure it then just ring up the insurance company saying its broken down on the way home and htey send someone to recover it and take it to your home address.

I have done that a couple of times, but i don't insure the car.

Buy the car and then take the rota out for example and phone the AA up - My policy covers me for cars not mine and is the relay type so they come out to 'fix' it and then take me and the car back home. Its worth using for long journeys aswell. I once got drunk in Derby when i needed to get to Cardiff so i covered the engine in oil and rang up the AA saying i had a massive oil leak and it was going on the road etc. They put it on a flat bed and back to Cardiff we went inc them paying for the evern bridge crossing

No doesnt affect my excess or my renewal premium. They just think i have bought some well shitty cars
