Not sure what to do with it ! Has been in a garage for approx 10 years according to previous owner and is only showing 4500 miles but i dont think that is correct. Needs a feckin good clean first engine bay and interior are just plain nasty than see if it will run. Cheers Mark

get the outside tidy, maybe a lick of paint, keep the engine oe and rat look, just paint the raised edges of the rocker cover and the vw logo black, they are pretty rare. i like the battered engine look, i bet itll still run sweet as a nut too

Thanks Saf, engine is turning over just, but carb has about had it i think ,nearly went though! I have an abd engine in the barn so might drop that in for a bit. I'm still not sure exactly what to do with it though? Are mk 2 vans that rare ? I dont think id do anything that wasnt reversible though.

So had a couple of hours spare today so made a start on stripping it out. What a balll ache nearly everything i touched is corroded so its slow progress but body wise seems solid enough.

Thanks mate, looks worse than it is (i hope), thinking full respray at the minute,lower slightly the usual. Hopefully ready for billing but we will see!

I wonder what became of this van? As I bought one in January this year, an E reg, same colour. Mine's a little better condition wise and has never been off the road until now that is. 

Pretty sure he's still got it tucked away. 

My van, is now fully stripped. Awaiting some more welding, that's just been discovered. Then the long job of commissioning the complete van will start in earnest once it's back. It's been a while since I posted on here. Mainly due to the other two Polo's I have that were both demanding attention. Mine looks in the same state as the one pictured above, except that it has green wings and doors currently!
