" IDLE CONTROL VALVE "

Featured Replies

I was told by the RAC man that came out yesterday to look at my car due to starting problems , he told me that the idle control valve would need replacing and this was not to much hassle.I have done enquires and found you can buy this componant on the internet for £28.50 with free postage and a 12 month warranty. My dad done rang around today he rang VW themselves who said you cannot buy jus this conponant and that i would need to buy the complete unit for £400 ! :-o , then he spoke 2 someone else recommended by a mechanic friend who , that place said the same and quoted £340 for the unit. apprently you cannot just buy the commponant .

Was woundering if anyone on here has replaced just the idle control valve?

it doesn't have an idle valve, its incorporated into the throttle body and it cannot be replaced seperately

oh . they sell them on the net on a parts website ? what would be a suggestion?
