Hi MOT guys, well basically i have 14" x 6" teardrops on my 6n which is pretty low the tyres dont stick out the arches or anything, they're slightly tucked but when i got some weight in my car or go over a big bump the tyre will just catch on the plastic arch liner that sits on the edge of the arch. Jst wondering if it will fail mot on this? Spoke to a bloke at a rolling road the other day said that aslong as the coilover isn't loose on the springs then the arch clearence wont matter?

Anyone think anything different cheers!

Take the arch liners out to be on the safe side. If there's any evidence of the tyres catching the bodywork then they can (should) fail it. Same as if the tyres contact the bodywork during the test (ie, on full lock).

It's at the tester's discretion though, they might not give a shit, but some have been known to fail a car for being simply too low, or too stiff. Any tester can refuse to test a car.

ah okay cheers, yeah i might do that you can see abit on the tyres where they've rubbed slightly but still really legal at that. No theres plenty of clearence on full lock so thats fine the fronts are fine no rubing at all just the backs might just wind them up 20mm or something for the mot. cheers

when i went for my MOT they noticed this where my G60s were scuffing on full lock...

still passed though.

Pahaha! thats crazy! Think my should pass seems all good :) even though my clutch arm broke monday and now I'm forking out £150 labour plus parts....gearbox out job :(
