Man how annoying

Right long story short i had to head over to leeds today from huddersfield, set off on my journey and got about 5minutes in and like a nob realised my blood was low (diabetic) so i rack my brains on where to stop, passed football stadium, pulled into retail park, furniture shop, bnq, currys staples

so i remembered stables had some easter eggs chocolate shit last time i went in, so i drove over, all the 6 parking spots outside it were full apart from 2 disabled spots and 2 mother and baby spots.

So next door is allied carpets, shut down for about a month now, so i park in the disabled bay next door to staples, outside the place that is shut down.

go in, grab my chocolate, come out, and spotty greasy bastard is giving me a ticket, i was in there for all of 2 minutes, he clearly was waiting.

So i tell him and he gives me nothing but geek attitude, and he didnt even know what diabetes is!

told me i was making excuses and i shouldnt park there.

So that is that, £60 fine

Now i cant help but feel hard done by here, i never park in disabled bays, so much so that i didnt even have the balls to park in the ones outside staples, and parked outside the closed shop.

I'm not going to pay it to be quite honest, as its a bit of a piss take, do i do right?

Then i return home to find pikey's rifling through all my stuff round back, what has happened to this country, does no one work for a livign anymore?

I once got a ticket for parking on double yellows out side the bank, the road with the double yellows is just a tiny exit/entrance road for the market people, the market wasnt even on this day and i had my flid badge clearly on show

I just threw the ticket away, never heard anything since, that was about 18month ago. I have moved twice in that time though

well the ironic thing is if i really wanted i could get a disabled pass, but i am clearly "able"

its so annoying, I've sent them an email now saying i will not be paying it, and my reasoning.

The fine is annoying, but what is more annoying is the logic and attitude of the shitbag.

mate, if its private land and not a proper traffic warden, tell them to suck out

to get the money off you they'd have to take you to court. which isnt really worth it for £60 fine [i've had a fair few and they're only £30 if you pay within 2 weeks so £60 straight out is a bit of a rip]

its is from a private car parking company? or from the council or a company that work for the council. I was reading a load of stuff about parking tickets and such a while ago and if it is a private company then the fine has to be a reasnble price ( £20-£40) and that they have to prove it was you who was driving, also they have to give you 5min before they can write you out a ticket, there is loads of loopholes out there and they know it, so you can tell them that you are not going to pay and you do not want to be contacted by them again and that you are willing to take it to court, they know they will lose so wont bother. I think all that only applys if it is a private company if it is then they can go and fuck themself, dont pay them, I did the same a while back they even sent me baliff letters which is a load of bull just to scare you into paying, they cant send it to the baliffs without going to court and they cant go to court without you being there. they left me alone after a snotty letter letting them know they aint gunna win. I will try to find the website i was reading up on all this stuff.

I swear this countries trys to get money out of you where ever possible, its sad really.

yeah its a private company, cheers for the replies, it has an "issued time of 11.58" and "time of ticket given: 12.00"

and for reference it is £60 fine, and £100 after 14 days

best line to use in your appeal against the ticket is "i would like to know what you would have done in the same situation as me"...that usually shuts them up

make the fucker who reads your letter realise that you had no option but to park there, you were about to die, you took all necassary precautions to make sure you parked in disabled bays that wont ever be used but still give you quickest access to the store, and that if they were in the same position they would've done the same

tell them them the warden offerd to rip up the ticket in exchange for a sex act, tell them you have witneses and will be taking it to the news papers if they try to take it further

I saw a program about traffic wardens a while back.

It seemed to make the point that many Traffic Wardens are immigrants.

The terms of there imagration state they need a job. Some take Traffic Warden jobs as they don't relise that it's a crap job, where people will hurl abuse at them and they have to be very strict as they have targets to meet.

Point is, the guy might not have been english, and is probably just trying to meet some targets to earn a living.

On the other hand he could be English and a massive dick head, so fuck it.

I had a parking ticket off the exact same firm..

No telephone number, the only one was an automated one to pay the fine.

I e-mailed contesting it. twice. I refused to give more information and I emailed them the 2nd time to explain to them that needing more information off me other than an e-mail address for correspondence was irrelevant to contest the ticket, and through the data protection act I wasn't obliged to give it as they didn't need it (the data protection act states no company is allowed to hold irrelevant information). I got no other reply than the automated one.. twice. So I just gave up. 1 year later they obviously caught up and I got a letter from a debt collection agency for like £150 (£100 + charges). I forwarded them the x2 e-mails contesting it and told them I wouldn't be paying, which they replied that its not thier issue, they are collecting on behalf of the parking company. So another e-mail to the firm and I got a personal response that its too late to contest as they never received the original e-mails! I forwarded them the e-mails and their automated response and they just stuck to their guns saying its too late to contest... WTF!! I just ignored them from that point on. That was about 3 years ago and I've moved twice since. Eventually they'll give up when the cost out weighs the money they'll get back.

Also, I gave them the ticket serial number. Don't give them anything else, independent companies need to prove YOU were driving at the time as they can't fine the car owner, only the driver at that current time..

i had a ticket off a company like that and i didnt pay it because i was told that because it was private land the police dont enforce it and the thieves doing this are to thick to realise the law and i agree with mrp they have to prove you were driving other than that tell them it was a medical emergency and if they cant understand said medical condition then they dont deserve to be paid and need to go back to school

Proper shit that mate, i've had a few parking tickets in my time, all valid reasons though :(

most recent one was for £35 or £70 after 14 days, bit the bullet and paid for it before the price jacked up :( mine was from the local council though, not a private firm, not really worth contesting.

Not saying you should pay though, due to your cirucmstances that fine is complete bollox, fucking delinquent didn't know what diabetes was? guess it explains why he only got a job as a traffic warden, brainless idiot.

Might be a good idea as mentioned before, get a dodgy handicapped pass, or at least carry a walking stick in your car for such situations
