I passed my test last march, and am currently a named driver as I was told I will earn no claims, after speaking to my insurer earlier, it becomes apparant I wont start earing no claims until I am 19. Also my insurer does not support mods.

I have just spoken to elephant, and got quoted £2800 with business use fully comp 15k a year with mods declared.

I then explained about my no claims, and they said they can just ring up my current insurer and ask how long I have been on the policy and have there been any claims. With that 1year discount it went down to £2500.

Then he asked will anyone else use the car, so I added my mum and dad as named drivers, and it came down to £1400!

I'm pretty happy with that really, just need to wait until march now haha.

I'm with elephant, seem pretty good tbh!, i was shocked at the quote they gave me i rang them up to confirm it was correct!

yea man I'm with elephant cause they were by far the cheapest with me, only problem is they wont let me lower less than 50mm - fuck it ill take that risk

yup! adding my mum saved £1000! haha, as a named driver whos never gonna use it ?! and adding dad took another £100 off :)

Elephant and Bell are both just brand names for the Admiral group who are by far and away the most competitive insurer for young drivers at the moment.

Always worth trying all 3 if you're under 21.

lowered, wheels, i said 'debadged grill' and he said what? and i was like a badge without vw logo, n he was like oh, then i said lights etc, and he said, il just put exterior mods down. haha, I'm happy to pay that much, hope its that price in a month when i have a years no claims though.

didnt say anythin about mine :S should imagine its not the best, 1 mile from dual carriageway to motorways, birmingham. also a through road, and not far from town. haha

yeah, i got quote on compare the market (loool) which was 2500.

I rang them for more info and to ask questions.

Decided i need class 1 business cover as I occasionally travel to a diff place of work.

I will have been driving a year as a named driver with no claims, however these wont be officially logged, however, he said he can ring my current insurer with a policy number and simply say ''how long was he on the policy, and were there any claims?'' and they HAVE to tell him. Therefore I basically get a year.

So with mods+business was 2800, then 1 year no claims was 2500, added my mum, 1500, added dad too, 1400

yeah the 1400 is lump sum, 1800 for monthly (153 a month i think) i forgot to ask about engine mods tbh lol.
