You will need an 8mm (iirc) spline drive bit to remove the 6 bolts attaching the driveshaft to the gearbox.

Can't remember what size socket, but you will need to remove the hub nut on the disc side. Easiest thing is to loosen it off when the car is on the ground and probably a mate pressing on the brake pedal aswell, along with a breaker bar/pole etc. as they are pretty tight.

Then undo the bolts at the driveshaft, remove the hub nut and it will slide out of the hub, may need a tab with a mallet.

The Hub Nut is 30 or 32mm, pretty sure its 30mm, deffo loosen it before you take anything off the otherwise youll never get it off, helps if someone stands on the brakes and you have a FUCK OFF breaker bar.

M8 spline for driveshafts as said above, make sure you tap them in with a hammer so they dont round, and it helps to have someone on the brakes while you undo one, and then lift off, spin the shaft round and work your way around.

the passenger side usually needs you to knock out the tca from the strut so you can get enough distance away from the inner cv joint to actually pull it out.

not too difficult with the right tools and patience.

you should really change the driveshaft bolts for new ones, but i never bother, just torque em up as per haynes spec.

as long as you have a big breaker bar to crack the hub nut and an 8mm spline tool then it should be easy.

excellent

thats how i though it was done but was chdecking i didint have anythhing else to do.

appreciate the replys

cheers

Only other thing is strictly speaking, the hubnuts shouldn't be reused.

Be sure to retighten to 210Nm. Or if you don't have a torque wrench, that's approximately seriously fucking tight.

:lol::lol::lol: !!!!

i find its just possible to wriggle em out without undoing the tca/balljoint etc ...has to be jacked right up obviously

is it the same principle for the drivers side?

the hex nuts on the gbox end and hubnut at other end?

its just that i just looked and couldnt see the hex nuts. just had a quick look.

its the same i assume. couldnt really see as loads of stuff in the way lol.

Yeah, just the same, but the allen bolts are a lot further under as the driver's side driveshaft is longer.

Its 5 white nuckles for tightening up the hub nut again
