Oh sorry, i missed this. The ball bearings have come out, the shaft is still attached but the AA guy recommened not to drive it

Drive it up the road a bit and tell the AA youve broke down? Theyll tow you back then

Good idea, but make sure your AA membership covers it, as think there is a 15 mile limit on entry AA memberships
