If you're driving around at higher revs then you'll use more fuel. No good for motorways etc then.

But if you drive in town alot, you may even be able to use higher gears than currently, and get better economy as a result.

well its in now and tbh it seems faster its rev happy all the way through every gear it has limited speed like 2nd gear hit 40mph instead of 50 and 3rd hits 65 where as with the 1.4 gearbox it was kinda sluggish after 4000rpm and wouldnt really accelerate much unless i changed higher gear... although have been driving round all night since doing it and managed 35mpg which is like a dream for this car lol was getting 250 miles to 45 litres...

Edit: also there isnt going to be any mechanical issues with this is there mate???

I'm sure it feels a bit delicate to start with, you always think something's gonna break when you've just modified it,but unless you've left a critical bolt undone and the box is in good health it'll be fine..

Make sure you renew the gear oil,if you haven't already done so.

topped up with nearly 2litres of fresh gear oil and me n my mate checked everything twice over... also theres no whines crunches or anything coming from it which is always a good thing i think... only paid £80 from scrap yard so it was abit of a gamble on how good it would be...
