ye but itl be hollow underneath wont it??

plastic welding holds uo good if you use something the right size, unlike fubreglassing it then it just sinks and looks rubbish

I'm hearing alot about this plastic welding and it'd be very handy if i knew how to do this anyone fancy telling me how??

sorry for the thread hijack :D

you just melt the two pieces of plastic together, heat them up, get a screwdriver or somethin an just merge them into each other, i jus plastic welded the top grills on the 16v bumper, but didnt take any pictures otherwise i could of posted them for you, I'm sure someone on here will have a pic

heating the plastic and using a screwdriver isnt the same as using a plastic welder, using the proper plastic welding kit makes it stronger and a better job

Use a section from an old 8v rear bumper, is the right shape.

Using a soldering iron with a flat tool on the end would be a better option than a screw driver. At least then the heat is constant and you can 'mix' the two plastic parts into each other. Soldering iron will only cost you about a tenner but will make the job easier and better.

screwdriver was just an example like, i used a blowtorch kinda thing and a butter knife to mix the plastics into each other, made a solid weld
