So i was looking at upgrading my sounds, but, being the noob that i am, don't really know what amp to go for.

I found a JBL GTO-1004e, with 100w rms into 4 channels for a lovely wee price, and then thought about buying the Kappas (90w rms) to match it.

But a guy on here is selling a pair of Rainbows SL 165, (80w rms), for pretty much the same price, and I dont really know what to go for.

I know Rainbow are supposed to be good, but the Kappas are reduced, and are supposed to be 150, instead of 90.

I'm looking for a good bass, and looking to install a woofer at a later stage.

I haven't heard either but on paper I'd choose the Kappas. Better freq response and sensitivity, plus they're comps so you can mount the tweeters away from the mids for better sound stage.

Agree. You're not comparing like-with-like, and a component setup is going to be a better option for sound quality than a co-ax. Kappas :)
