I bought this car standard Oct '09

Then came coilovers

Then picked up some steels and refurbed, sprayed Reflex silver. and lowered about 30mm more.

Future plans are for some nicers alloys, sort out the bodywork.

14s with some dish, can't go much bigger because i have no power lol.

possibly get the 14 steels banded, on the look out for some second hand rims atm.

Engine is staying as it is, i'm loving 45mpg tbh don't want to loose the ability of only visiting the petrol station once a week haha, not bothered about audio, don't really listen to music whilst driving lol, i'm weird...

Quite like turbos was lookin at compomotive TH monos aswell..

Good base, if I ever get a polo newer than my 81 mk1, I will go for a 6n2, I have now realised how they make 6n's look poo!

It's slow lol, got quite good torque low down but then it just has nothing. like 18 secs 0-60 lol

It's a light engine though so you can really chuck it about and it just goes where you point it.

Had a go at playing with the ride height today, it's just not sitting right.

Any ideas? i'm new to the whole stance thing...

Lower profile tyres?

I'm on 185/60/14 on the back and 185/55/14 on the front, would changing them all to 50 profile make alot of difference or would have have to down to 45s?

45 definitely , then you could afford to wind the coils down further before you start scrubbin'

I was down about 100mm at one point and didn't scrub the tyres, they're et38 6j so there's loads of room under there, it's just everything else banging and rubbing like the drive shaft lol

Am i right in thinking If i go from 55 profile to 45 profile, will that drop the body by 10mm without adjusting the spring settings???

yeh it is all about low and slow all the way down motorways well people drive past gorping at you are dub :p
