was doing around 45mph in my car but i didnt realise it was a 30... as it was only a few hundered meters inbetween 2 50 zones on a duel carrige way. anyway i seen a speed gun and i was doing just about 45 on my speed so in reality its about 41? then i slowed down by the time it was pointed at me to around 35 on speedo so i guesstimate i was showing 32 on the laser? should i be worried? they didnt pull me over but I've read and heard so many conflicting stories that I'm not sure what is happening, should i just wait it out and worry for the next 2 weeks?

as far as i know the law will let you off for a few mph over due to imperfections in speedos but if the gun was pointed at you before you got your speed down then id say your busted unfortunatly unless you can afford mister loop hole that is

was it one of those vans that got you, or a policeman standing at the side of the road?

if it was a policeman they have to stop you and give you finr there and then I'm pretty sure,

where as the vans send out letters to offenders.

2 pigs at road side, i was doing 45 when they saw me, by the time they pointed the gun i was below 40, around 37 on my spedo, so i think i should have been around 34 on there gun ? if they dont pull me can i still get a fine? id drove around 300 miles and not sped once, honest, and a 400m 30mph zone on a 50 might have got me 3 points, I'm going to contest it anyway but I'm worried

tbh i dont reckon you will get anything from it, because i think they have to pull you over there and then even if they do give you a warning by the side of the road, has happend to me 3 times was doing the same as you about 35-40mph each time. one time they stoped me and said "it was good you saw us.. good reaction's, we got you doing 34 but let this be a waring... slow it down" and that was at the side of the road plus the lazer guns dont record you licence plate so how would they contact you. You got off lucky this time just be out o the look out and expect it :biggrin:

I've Heard That Your Allowed 10% Over The Limit . For Example , 33 Mph In 30 Limit / 44 Mph In 40 Limit .Etc.

I think I might have been done yesterday, coming from a 50 zone to a 40 zone, just over the crest of a hill I saw the unmistakable streak of yellow that is two officers pointing a speed gun.

The lorry driver infront had litterally stamped on his brakes, down the crest he went, tyres screeching as the cars behind following suit.

We all went past the officers at about 20mph to 30mph, nothing shouts guilty more than that I suppose.

One of the officers was shouting something at me in particular.

I'm hoping that because I was in a que of traffic that nothing will come of this, of course with my luck, I'll probably be the only one done.

From what I have read, the assumption of speeding by two different police officers for the same offence is enough to convict someone of speeding.

If Anythink Does Happen You Can Always Argue Your Case As The Laser Guns Are Inaccurate , One Was Pointed As A Brick Wall And Read 30 Mph

They could have a hand held camera gun thing...thats how they got me.

To be honest if you saw them when you were doing well over the limit, I'd say they have you as 9 times out of ten, even though they aren't allowed to hide etc, they do see you before you see them.

I got done for going 32 in a 30 by one of the van's.. Was about 10 meter's from exiting a 40!

Hopefully you'll be alright, i think if it's a policeman with a gun they have to fine you then and there.

i have been stoped for speeding lots of times and neaver seen or herd of a HANDHELD camera gun thing just handspeed guns that read a speed not reg plates etc

the onley handheld camera things are the cameras in the back of the vans (there fixed) that record your speed and video of you and send a letter to the regestered keeper with fotos of you and your car speeding
