COLEMAN - I have a feeling you may be right, i think the 1.4 16v 100hp model shares a lot in common with the gti so the front mudflaps link i sent you they may fit?

Jim - glad you like the wheels, why dont you treat yourself, a nice set of 15s or 16s the same as mine would look nice on a 6n

I live in heanor between derby/notts guys

i've brought the rear ones, got a black leathers gear gaitor with blue stitching, got some Heko wind defs on the way shortly, but atm I'm f'ed off, i took off my EGR and throttle body gave them a good clean, put back on and the car runs like a piece of Shite, going to make a blank plate for my EGR, ment to gain about 2-3bhp and EGR valves just suck balls tbh and all they do is save a tiny amount of fuel and give LOTS of problems... like a vaccumm leak... ARGH!!!! xD lets just hope the blank plate will solve it + a new TB seal, if not might need a new TB >.<

How old are you guys any way?? I'm only 17 XD and my insurance is innnnsssaaannnneeeeee group 10...

i said to myself when I'm 19 and it's 2k or less for a GTI then I'm getting one :) like Boyles xD

Ouch! I'm 20 and pay £816 fully comp! Wouldn't like to be paying those sorta prices at all.

do you all ahve NCB though? because i will only have named driver :(

I didn't have any no claims last year as I was a named driver for my first two years. My insurance then was £1300 or so fully comp. This year just renewed with one year no claims and £816 fully comp. Was pleasantly surprised :)

Nice car mate, lovin the stance and the wheels.

What wheels are they? Are they on spacers?

  • 3 weeks later...

He dosent own the car anymore mate.

He didn't have spacers on but the wheels were 16" Dotz Mugello's

You guys think you got it bad? I'm paying 2800 on my own insurance @ 18years. Lets have a look over the disadvantages-

1. Male

2. Write Off

3. Fail.

As bradley said I have sold the gti now but yes the wheels where 16" dotz mugello's with vw centre caps. I have moved on to a Mazda Rx8 and so far I have no regrets but I will always love the gti. Have not been on here much since selling the car but peoples thoughts on the new motor whether they be good/bad are welcome.

The engine oil consumption on these is very over rated to be honest, I've owned it a month now, done about thousand miles and I am yet to need to top up. The fuel consumption is pretty poor though I'm averaging about 20mpg. If you drive like a granny everywhere though you could get 300 miles to a full tank (60 litres).

Rx7s a bit to hardcore for me, this is certainly quick enough but you need to keep high up the rev range to get the most out of it.

Pleased so far though :)

secks i like them in red a little more but deffo wouldnt say no to a black one

Yea red was my first colour choice but this one came up with extras like flip up in dash satnav and red/black heated electric leather etc so I went for it :)

see I'm not a big fan of leather i agree it looks nice but i just dont like to sit in it lol
