i was jus wondering whether when you did this conversion if you had any trouble getting the thing to turn over once you'd finished.. I'm at the point where i jus need to turn the key and watch it fire up.. but I'm getting nothin, not even a click

I've tried another starter, brand new battery, changin the engine wiring loom

any help would be much appreciated

As on your Polo3 build thread - it's not got the immobiliser remnants of some crappy alarm tucked under the dash somewhere has it? From one of the engine bay pics it looks like there was once an alarm fitted?

yea there was an alarm fitted but as far as i was aware it never worked.. but maybe the immobiliser still did.. i'll Have to trace back the wires

those who have done this conversion, what starter have you used, coz the one's that I've now tried dont seem to have the power to turn it over very quick?
