Le Mans?? ;)

Just not 24 hours, 1 Tank of Fuel...

...and no chaging tyres ,

boring, every one would be trying to make their fuel and tires last so wouldn't be driving flat out

Or would they have massive fuel tanks and rock hard tyres, but drive like their pubes were on fire?

what a shame theyve messed about with f1 so much

hope they wake up soon and realise its best to stick to one set of rules and let them race, let the lesser teams catch up over the seasons and it will get exciting..if it aint broken dont fix it.....

no refueling was the biggest error as it was clear that the teams would look after the tyres rather than race, spoil the tyres and its an extra pit stop, game over!!!!,WHAT A SHAME...

probably not, they have already found ways to make one of the fastest sports on earth boring and even with titles on the line the drivers still try to play it safe.

they should do some thing like dock there wages. only the winner gets his full pay, as they finish further down the pack the percentage they get get's lower until you get to the last place where it's nothing (same as no finishers). make them earn there lunch

it just seems that the drivers need an extra kick up the arse to actually go for it, maybe this would do the trick, if they knew they couldn't pay the rent this month if they didn't hammer it then maybe we would see some real racing. they could give the amount taken away from them to charity or some shit.

With technology these days I would look to computer games for inspiration. Take some rules from mariokart and Road Rash. Got to avoid banana skins and you get random boosts or jumps. Plus you can fire stuff to damage each others cars.

Seriously though F1 always will be the most boring motorsport, the cars are too good which means its not all about the driving. You only have to watch a lap of stock cars, banger racing, or even touring cars, to realise that its not about how fast you are going.

I hate watching any form of motorsport but even I know that BSB or moto GP is way more entertaining than F1, if it was up to me you would have F1 cars with 1000bhp turbo motors with magneto's, no electrics on the whole car. And they would be on primative suspension, but with good brakes. You would get drivers having to work hard to keep the cars on the road then, even when conditions were perfect.

F1 cars seem so refined that there is no driving 'on the limit', you just drive it as fast as it will go and if you go too far you crash and die.

edited for realism

but yeah i get exactly what your saying. i took the kids to watch some stock car while we were in yarmouth in the summer and it was really enjoyable, even tho it was pretty much banger car's driving round in a circle but without crashing it was still fun to watch. although that did have the advantage of being in person rather than on a tv.

I still think that's a big mistake myself. It's just going to be like alonso the other year were both drivers see themselves as the "main" driver and they can't possibly get along. We shall see though.

They looked like they were having a laugh together as they were asking each other questions before the race. Lets hope it lasts and they manage to get some good results.

It is fooking boring now though. I'm surprised that anyone actually has to be in the car these days because they're so advanced. Why not make it remote control instead?

F1 constantly changing isn't a recent thing.. it's happened all the way through the sport

Anything that stands out and offers a unique technological advantage gets banned, after just one whole season if you are lucky. The fan car, wings mounted on uprights, active suspension amongst others were all got rid of in days of old due to teams who couldn't think of them first - even though they were clear technological advances.

It's the same these days, that whole row over rear diffusers a few years ago, traction control and other driving aids have all been got rid of to 'level the compettition'.

I suppose back in the old days, F1 represented the pinnacle of car design and engineering. Now people are more interested in who is the best driver, and so the playing field is being constantly levelled by banning any step forwards, at the expense of clever engineering. Seems a shame really, but now it's all about the money and impressing the 'market' of fans. It's no longer carried out by those purely interested in making the best and fastest cars possible.

Awesome race much?

Yeah to be fair, it was pretty interesting..

I had to watch it at 7am too cause I was out for a meal all day, and that clock change made getting up early even shitter lol..

Shame for Hamilton really cause he could've got a podium..

yeah mclaren took a big gamble with that and it didn't pay off, felt well bad for hamilton. he could've had at least 3rd if not for being pitted, assuming he could onto his tyres at least as well as the ferraris and the renault did. good to see button win though.

Has Button got a new missus for this season? I'm sure its a different person..

That race made up for how shit the first one was! Bloody hell. I have to say my favourite was Hamilton, drove so well considering.

I'm glad Schumacher isn't coming back well anyway! Haven't liked him since he shunted Damon Hill in Adelaide '94.

Awesome race from what i saw. Hamilton was driving like a right lunatic and gaining places well quick. Shame he got nudged.

At least the other Mclaren won ;)

i enjoyed the race

but if hamilton had overtaken alonso it could have made things alot more intresting for future races

would have made teams think about changing tyres for lap times rather than holding back for track position

fair play to jenson though, when he came out of the pits snaking around on the turf. i felt embarassed for a moment but it payed off, well the lack of rain did :-) :-)

Formula One? whats that....

i thought it was called follow the leader?

Thats generally the idea until they go to overtake

LOTUS team FTW.

yeah team proton.....sorry, lotus, seem to be doing the best out of those new smaller teams don't they. Good to see a Lotus back on an F1 grid even if it is only a lotus by name.

Was funny to hear lewis having a hissy fit on the radio, get on with it..

I hate Monaco,

Alonso was the fastest in practising but he had a crash which damaged the chassis so he's out of qualifying, so hopefully the Brits can gain some places, I think they were like 7th and 8th at the end of practising..
