Removing Boot Trim

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me how to remove the interior boot trim on my 08 plate 3 door Polo E60?

The rear washer has stopped working and I need to get the trim off to re-attach the pipe.

Cheers.

Have you looked inside the little handles?

There's usually a bolt in each handle. If you undo those it should clip out.

Yeah, I found the screws inside the handles and removed them, but it was still pretty solid. I was too scared to force it in case I break the clips.

I'm not going to lie to you, more than likely you will break the clips.

I've had two boot interior trims, and all the clips are broken on all of them. Even the bodyshop couldn't remove them and keep them in-tact.

The thing is though, those clips are only there to help you locate the trim when re-fitting it. Once you've tightend up those bolts again it will be fine.

Just try and pull it out as straight as possible.

take the screws out of the handles then force it out, use a flat head screw driver or a pry bar to pry the trim off

i did that on mine and i only broke one clip

Many thanks guys, I'll give it a try today.

Use a big flat head screw driver on either side. Then get your hand behind it and pull...should work a treat :)

Removed mine a few times without breaking any. Right tool for the right job they say.
