Had my coilies on about 5days now (ta technix) and all I can say is how crap they are for me! The roads by me are not great (not so many pot holes but alot of Tarmac seems and they just bounce around on a flat road)! Terribly uncomfortable,The fronts are good and stick like shit to a blanket but the rears are terrible and bouncey (there actually orite wound right down but I don't want to go uber low a I have speed bumps to get to

work) so I am going to try out some new heights and see if they improve if not there going! So what coul I get that will give me a decent amount of comfort, might be doing a deal with a guy in here for some

highsports, but what about decent spring and shock kits!

Can anyone recommend any comfy lows??? I'll be running 15" 5.5j et45 rims with 165/50/15s on so somethig with moderate lowereage and comfort!!!

Bud I think if you wanna go low no matter what ones you get the ride will be harsh...obv high end ones will not be as harsh as Technix but personally I dont warrant spending the extra hundreds of pounds.

I love the bouncy ride , soft springs are boring man.

i have Blistein shocks and springs and the rides awesome, not quite low but performance wise, i can out corner any car on coillies, including a Cupra. It's all about the springs. Comfy as well whilst cruising. But if you wanna give it some boot they handle well.

oh you've pussy'd out then! if you get softer rear suspension bere in mind that carrying passengers may become an asshole.

i only ever really carry one passenger in the front (my bird or my mum or my 84 year old grandma (please note they are not the same person nor is my name hans fritz lol) who i ferry to doctors and post office on pension day etc) and when i pic my bird up from work i sometimes drop her mate of who weighs about 9 stone wet thru, sits in the back!

lol, i bought my coilovers from the same group buy as you but for my golf and i put the fronts on first as it got too dark to do the back to and i though fuck me these are comfortable. i then put the backs on the next day and slammed the car and it was the bounciest ride i've ever had in my life. they have got alot better now though i must say. i'm definately not looking back. low is far more important than your grandma's comfort!

lol yea but isnt more improtant i do about 40+ miles a day and its really too stiff, for track use or bendy roads its great but by no means comfy! I'm sure there must be some way of a subtle lowerage and ride comfort???? its made my bird travel sick on a 4 mile trip, the bottome of my back is fecked, I'm gonna try some highsports then if not fuck it I'm going back to standard, unless someone can suggest something better?

I'm not going to bung coilovers on mine straight away, I'm going with some springs on standard shocks.

I'm too old for coilovers and not scene enough to care really.

Mines like a rock too tbh. Hit my head on the roof a couple of times when going over bumps in the road I hadn't notice. You just have to brace yourself for them. That or wear a helmet.

Think your best bet is to buy some high end ones and see if they are any better.

If not get springs/shocks.

Theres not much else you can do tbh.

As said before mate your best off investing in some "better brand ones"

It's a classic case of, "you get what you pay for"

KW Variant 3's are like the best coilovers out there but they're well expensive. If you ever went in a car though which had them on, every road literally feels like glass!

Highsports are mint, had them on the Mk2, handled like a dream even with dodgy tracking and being pretty low. This is how low it was, and it was more comfortable than the Mk5 Jetta TDI Sport that my mate had as a courtesy car, and far far more comfortable than my current VTR on Spax springs. There are plenty of lower Mk2s about, but this was as low as I could have it with respect to actually getting about in Aberdeenshire!

go with fk highsports mate there mint and are not too expensive , i have them on my 16v and the roads are shite , potholes speed bumps u name it and they are not too bumpy as my old budget coilies ... i know the feelin.....
