Featured Replies

Just curious why we cant have sigs after our posts?

Any moderators care to elaborate? or anyone for that?

Just helps the place look tidy I suppose

tbh thats the one thing i like about clubpolo and its forum - no signatures!

As above its tidy and easy on the eye when reading through posts...rather than looking at a mess of a page with random shit all over the place

signatures slow forums down, especially when I look on my phone... keep it quick!

We don't have them because it's annoying when everyones post looks like this:

Lol.

It's just pointless clutter..

I don't particularly like signatures...one of the good things about this site is complete the lack of them.

You don't need a signature AND an avatar. Signatures are messy and hard to police properly when user's post a massive signature image, whether accidentally or not.

On most forums I'm a member of, if I have the option I turn off the "display signatures" setting. No signatures = WIN.

Would be nice for a small signature :)

Forums with Signatures I seem to overlook several posts by people since i think they are attached to the above post, but then that could just be down to my crap scim reading skills.

If they were allowed i think they should be text only and size limited, so they an actual 'signature'..

why dont we have them but limited to 300x100 and a 25k file size and character length?

This is 1 i made for my mate of the fiat coupe forum..ristricted size and resolution..

That's pretty much it. Also bear in mind we have about 32,000 users  , so if half of them had sigs, that's an additional 16,000 images to store. Assume a 25k filesize limit and there goes 300-400megs.

Na becuase it will reference the image from photobucket or imageshack, the website would need to have anything to do with them, enforce a page limit of the sig size and limit the amount of characters in the box they enter the address for their link..

If in doubt, flat out

I think that will be the most common 'signature'

Don't do it, pointless and it will clutter everything up. The avatars are enough! I can recognise who is who just by looking at that small picture, I don't need to read a load of crap or look at an animated pic of their car...

Sigs are gay.

There a pain, plus there is the little bit of text above your avatar for random bits of text.

I prefer no Sigs, make it look tidy,

Suppose if there was a feature to display them or not i wouldnt mind (Y)

I feel a poll brewing... let the people speak!

HOO RAA !

Signatures just look wank and messy.

Lets concentrate on making our dubs look good, not our posts.

Max

Or, we could just leave sigs off. Seriously, what's the advantage? There's a member's gallery to see decent full size pics of cars. We already know your username, no need to put it in a ridiculous animated font that dances round your car. And really, I don't give a shit what your latest fuel economy is. Nor do I care how many medals you have on Xbox Live.

edit: this is meant at people who want sigs, not you max

You there, sit down and shut up. Anybody would think this was a democracy!

Seriously though, one of the best things about this forum is that you dont have to put up with peoples stupid, messy and most of the time just shit signatures!

what is the point in a sig any way? i don't give a shit how much power your car has or the long list of mods you've done to it, i don't want to know what scene saying you have just copied and pasted from another site, or quote you have copied that may of been amusing in the context it was posted in but now makes no sense at all just randomly stuck in you sig space... and i definitely don't want to see this shit every single time you make a post.

fuck sig's.

surely the username, avatar and the little text thing are good enough. sigs are shit, especially when people post loads in a thread with chatter, as you spend double the amount of time scrolling on a page just to read stuff. i stopped reading threads on edition because of so many overelaborate colourful and massive sigs that make readin a pain
