As title really, want the stiffest springs on normal uprated shocks like 4x11x300lbs..

What the fuck do you want springs that stiff for on a 700kg car? You'll physically destroy the car! You'll probably have to get them custom made.

Overkill, you'll shake yourself and the car to death in a few hundred yards.

Just fit 4 blocks of wood there wont be much difference in ride quality.

By normal uprated i mean an uprated shock that fits a standard size spring rather than a 2.25 etc you see on coilovers. The ride quality isn't an issue as the car isn't road legal it is only used on the track.

Do you know what the stiffest springs you can get are then?

uprated shortened mk3 golf VR6 springs with possibly modified top caps will be of a greater stiffness than any designed for a polo, much much better range in 2.25 and 2.5 springs though

If you fit stiffer springs you'll have damping issues and it'll bounce around like a yank barge - trust me, mine did, I put a coilover conversion kit on standard shockers and it did just that.

If it were my money, I'd either convert the spring mounts to standard sizes (2 1/4 " I.D. conversion kits from www.rallydesign.co.uk) and buy cheap springs (2.25 inch I.D. springs from £15 per spring, not many of the sizes/rates exceed £20 at the same website)

Or if you have to have stiffer springs and your dampeners can cope, www.dfaulknersprings.com can make you customs up

EDIT: I'm running 320lb rears and 300lb fronts - 6N 16V (rally car), it's not springs that ruin the ride, it's dampeners

G40 Cup Car suspension, or custom valved shocks- several UK companies will do these, Gaz, LEDA, Koni (Camberly Autofactors) etc...

Hmm yeah rally design can change the spring mounts to smaller ones which sounds like the best plan. Where would you pick up g40 cup car suspension though?

When we ran my brother in-laws escort mk3 in hot hatch we ran 700lbs springs in the rear and that was 700kg i think we ran something like 900 on the rear in the fiesta si championship car,you are forgetting race tracks are billiard table smooth compared to our british roads.

Your best bet would probably be to get some g40 cup springs or find out what spring rates they run and get some made,there used to be a guy advertising in a mag that could make springs to order in any size and rate i will have a look to see if i can find his number.

I think there is a guy with a g40 cup car on here,do a search for g40 cup and you will probably find a post by him.

If I'd have known there was going to be an actual use for that poundage of springs I wouldn't have piped up like that, I just thought you were another person wanting ridiculously stiff springs so your too big wheels don't touch your arches
