My mk3 project :)

Featured Replies

My 1.3 Mk3 Polo coupe, lowered on coilovers, 5 speed, love of my life ;)

Location: Beccles, near Norwich

I bought this car completely stripped out, no carpets or anything, no back seats, and looking like this.......

<img src="http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f363/jodz_blink182/023.jpg" width=400</img>

I then got to work on removing stickers and Tcutting the boot panel and got it from this.......

to this...

I then carpeted all inside, removed centre console and put in new black door cards, am in the proces of carpeting the boot area and back seat area with a sub and 6x9s sunk into the floor

Here is the sub sunk into spare wheel hole......

And the new interior (bit dirty, needs a hover, the joys of the countryside).....

More photos and updates soon :)

This is how the car currently looks from the outside......

To do list:

- Tcut whole car and sides to get entire car white (get rid of camo)

- Wire up and fit the whole sound system - DONE

- Install the headunit - DONE

- Put in new gearstick neck - DONE

- Get carpet retaining strips to put in

- Get a debaged grill

- Back to black inside and out

- Change air flow pipe

- Sort out right wing mirror

- Get exhaust welded on better - DONE

- Get new pedals

Any idea, let me know ;)

looks awasome mate i remember seeing the a couple on months back i agree with the white respray tho...

i reckon white and red is the best colour for a mk3...

Yeah gonna be horrendous tryin to get that camo off haha. I'd even go over it with thinners first... Maybe raise the rear a bit too, gettin some bad reverse rake on!

Other than that, lookin good so far, keen to see it all white will be lush :-D

when you getting pics of the camo gone ?

Best way to remove the camo would be some G3 and a machine polisher me thinks. It would bring the paint up nice too :)

cheers for the tips :D

i got it done with fuck loads of elbow grease and Tcut

the camo paint was really thin so was easyish to get off

done one side

its nothing amazing but looks fuckin incredible compared to the camo :')

with some polishing and everything it will look good enough

its never going to be amazing

aha how much would it cost me then? :')

Get on ebay and buy one. There not that expensive. I picked up a good Silverline one for about £25 or so and I've had it a couple of years now and its spot on. Has a slow start and adjustable speeds, ideal.

Nice to see the car given a second chance in life
