is ther any way of getin them on other the breakes? ,or can u get smalled breaks that will go on? off a lupo or wt eva? cuz i reaaaalllllly want osme ats classics lol if any one could help would be great:)

Surely if you can upgrade the lesser spec polos to 16v spec, then you can downgrade the 16v to 8v brakes? A case of swapping hubs, discs and calpers.

y would u down grade you are brakes are u wise? theres 40bhp difference between 8v and 16v ...... dont no about lupo brakes ..

try and find some on that has a pair close to your and ask if u can try them on !

Lupo brakes are the same as polo brakes iirc.

Lupo 16vs use 256s like the 16v Polo, but lesser models use 239s as the Polo.

You could always space them out so they are miles away from the brake discs. I wouldn't advise doing this though.

I jus fitted 8v brakes to my 16v to fit 9x13's, never had any issues in the 2 1/2 yrs I had it...

if i got 8valve calipers obv i will have 2 get differnt hubs but will the new hubs go on the driveshalfs ok ?I'm not 2 sure about all this stuff lol I'm new 2 it lol

Classics have been mega common wheels for as long as i can remember, not just this year. When i first joined this site though it was 99% a mk3 polo only wheel choice

They aren't all that amazing. And tbh, I don't recall seeing too many at UD, there not as common as they used to be.

As for brakes. yes the car may have more bhp, but its all down to how you drive it.

But going on the wording in that 1st post, I'm gunna stereotype and assume smaller brakes isn't a wise idea for you

I had an MK4 8v with 13x9 wheels. I loved those wheels oh so dearly. But I wanted a MK4 16v.... So guess what I did... I sold the wheels.

Also knowing how low you need to be to run 13's makes having a 16v pointless. Your never going to go at any speed through fear of hitting the deck. I think a previous owner of the wheels I had did the same as you are proposing to do and ran 8v brakes on a 16v. His car didnt last very long.

iirc a 16v subframe sits lower than a 8v

when I was running 13's on my polo the subframe was about 15mm off the floor, on a 16v it will probably sit lower so its definately not advised

but then again it depends how low you want to go

i fitted some 13x6 other day offset like 5 or something and they fit fine not much clearance from brakes tho.

went for a spin and bottomed out lol

Its impossible to get stance on 13's on a 6n unless you dont want to be able to drive the car at all due to the wishbones scraping on the floor..
