i got it off pal, apparently I'm supposed to wire up to a 12v current like the lighter plug, if i have a quad something i have no clue what to do.

you need to connect an ignition live as the car does not have one

you can get this from the back of the fuse box or the ignition switch

if your cigarette lighter only works when the ignition is on then you can connect it there

ideally you should have bought a canbus adapter part number CTAVGCAN001 this has the ignition feed built in already

ah right i might just buy one of those then :s

I bought a canbus adapter but it came with a separate orange wire to fit into the adapter and a red wire with one end for the iso plug and the other just a bare wire. I can get the radio to come on and stay on regardless of ignition or not work at all and swapping the red and yellow wires on the iso lead does nothing. any advice?

The yellow wire is normally your perminant power & the red is the switched live, but you can connect both to the yellow to make it work. But if you have CANBUS then you shouldnt do this as it cam send an error pulse to the canbus system & cause a few problems. You can buy an adapter off ebay for it, but you will need a multimeter and a bit of experience with car electrics to get a switched live off the fuse box (use the fuse for the heated washer jets or the heated rear window as they are both ignition lives!)
